iPad Air hits all-time low price

[ad_1]

iPad Air 5
Forget the M2 iPad Air and get the iPad Air 5 for $150 off.

Apple’s iPad Air lineup could get a refresh soon. But if you cannot wait for the new tablet’s imminent announcement and want an iPad Air, you can score a hefty $150 off on it right now.

This fantastic deal drops the price of the M1 iPad Air to $449, making it insanely affordable.

2022 iPad Air is sleek and powerful

With the 2022 iPad Air, you get a sleek tablet with a big 10.9-inch display. The tablet is slimmer than a pencil, which makes it easy to carry around.

The iPad Air lacks Face ID and a 120Hz ProMotion display like its Pro sibling. Instead, it sports a Touch ID sensor on the side button. Unless you are a power user, you won’t feel the lack of the 120Hz panel. Other downgrades include stereo speakers, a single rear camera, and no Thunderbolt support.

Inside the iPad Air is an M1 chip. The same SoC powers Apple’s 2023 iPad Pro, 2020 MacBook Air, and other devices. This means the tablet packs enough power to run your favorite iPadOS apps and games, like Final Cut Pro.

Despite so much power in such a slim package, Apple claims the M1 iPad Air provides up to 10 hours of battery life.

Save $150 on M1 iPad Air

At $599, the iPad Air is already a few hundred dollars cheaper than the iPad Pro. But if you take advantage of Amazon’s latest deal, you can save $150 on the tablet and get it for $449.

Since the entry-level iPad Air ships with 64GB storage, you should get the 256GB model. It retails for $749, but with Amazon slashing $150 off, you can have it for $599. That’s the same price you would have paid for the 64GB model. You can score a similar $150 off on the M1 iPad Air cellular variants.

This deal might not last for long, so grab the iPad Air variant you want before stocks run out.

iPad Air 5 with M1 chip

Apple’s 2022 iPad Air packs a big 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display, a powerful M1 chip, and a claimed 10-hour of battery life in a slim and light package.

Logitech’s $999 4K livestreaming camera is triple the price of its 1080p model

[ad_1]

Logitech is expanding its Mevo lineup of live-streaming cameras for creators. The company’s new Mevo Core shoots in 4K, meaning, unlike the 1080p Mevo Start we reviewed two years ago, cropping and digital zooms won’t lead to overly grainy video. However, the tradeoff is pricing, as the new model will set you back three times as much for a three-camera setup.

The Mevo Core continues the lineup’s trajectory of wireless multicam live-streaming directly to platforms like YouTube, Twitch and Facebook. (Of course, you can also record content to upload later.) The $999 package ships as a body only, although Logitech says it will sell lens bundle kits through Amazon and B&H Photo Video. Either way, you’ll need at least one Micro Four Thirds (MFT) lens to get started, and the company says any powered or manual MFT lens will work on day one.

The camera has a large 4/3 CMOS sensor, which Logitech says diminishes noise and improves low-light performance and depth of field compared to the 1080p model. The Core shoots in 4K at 30fps for recording content to upload later; if you’re live-streaming, you can instead use 1080p at 30fps. This model supports WiFi 6E, which could help with network latency and stability if your router also supports it.

Logitech

The camera’s body is noticeably bigger than that of the Mevo Start. At 3.5 x 3.5 x 3.25 inches, it has a similar depth and height but is about twice the width. With its battery installed (and no lenses mounted), it weighs 1.5 lbs.

Logitech says its audio is upgraded, too. It has a built-in three-microphone array with noise cancellation. You can also connect an external mic (or other audio source), which we found essential in the Mevo Start. We’ll have to wait and see if the Core’s built-in mics fare much better.

The Mevo Core’s battery life is estimated at six hours. If you need more time, you can plug an external power source into its USB-C port. It also includes an HDMI port, a 3.5mm one (for analog audio), and a microSD card slot. Logitech says it can double as an (incredibly expensive) wired or wireless HD webcam.

Like previous models, the Mevo Core works with Logitech’s Mevo app (where you can adjust things like focus, zoom, and aperture) and Multicam app to set up multi-viewpoint recording or streaming.

The Logitech Mevo Core is available for $999 for a single (body-only) camera starting today. It’s available from Logitech, Amazon, and B&H Photo Video.

M1 MacBook Air drops to all-time low price of $649

MacBook Air M1 2020
2020 MacBook Air drops to $649 after a massive discount.
Photo: Leander Kahney/Cult of Mac

Apple discontinued the M1 MacBook Air following the debut of the M3 Airs earlier this month. But you can still get your hands on the first Apple silicon laptop for as low as $649.

Best Buy is taking a whopping $350 off the M1 MacBook Air, making it insanely more affordable.

This post contains affiliate links. Cult of Mac may earn a commission when you use our links to buy items.

2020 MacBook Air’s performance and battery life will impress you

Apple announced the MacBook Air with M1 chip alongside the 13-inch MacBook Pro in late 2020. It was the company’s first Apple silicon laptop, and it blew the competition away with its performance, efficiency, and battery life.

Following the launch of the M2 MacBook Air in 2022, Apple cut the price of the M1 model to $999. Despite its dated design, this made the M1 Air a great entry-level machine for college students and light use. The all-day battery life is a cherry on top. It ensures the laptop lasts through a day of heavy use with ease without overheating despite its fanless design.

While reviewing the M1 MacBook Air for Cult of Mac, our editor, Leander Kahney, opened 650 Safari tabs. This was with several tasks running in the background, including downloading Photos and Office 365. If anything, this should give you an idea of the M1 MacBook Air’s incredible performance.

The same pros and cons still apply in 2024. If you can live with the M1 MacBook Air’s chunky bezels and dated design, its performance and battery life will impress you. Unlike the M3 MacBook Air, the 2020 model can only power one external display.

M1 MacBook Air for $649 is a steal deal

While Apple has officially discontinued the M1 MacBook Air, there’s no reason not to buy it. At $649, it is also the cheapest way to get a powerful MacBook for daily use. You will still get a standard one-year warranty, which you can extend further with AppleCare+.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 FE could launch in 2024 with $800 price tag

[ad_1]

There have been reports that Samsung plans to launch two Galaxy Z Fold 6 phones this year. However, a new report now claims that the South Korean firm will launch a cheaper Galaxy Z Flip 6 version this year to improve its sales figures.

Cheaper Galaxy Z Flip 6 to have largely the same cameras as the costlier one

According to a new report from SisaJournal (via @Tech_Reve), Samsung is planning to launch a more affordable version of its Galaxy Z Flip series phone this year. While the device’s name hasn’t been speculated, it wouldn’t be hard to imagine that Samsung could name it the Galaxy Z Flip 6 FE.

The upcoming foldable phone could have lower-end/older components than the Galaxy Z Flip 6. According to the report, it will have cheaper display, processor, and battery specifications. The Galaxy Z Flip 6 FE cameras, though, are expected to be similar to the pricier Galaxy Z Flip 5. So, it will likely feature a 12MP+12MP dual-camera setup, and there have been no major changes in camera components.

Samsung’s foldable smartphone market share has dropped from 66.4% to 60.4%, which is expected to drop further in the second quarter of this year. Samsung is reportedly trying to increase its market share by launching a more affordable foldable phone. The Galaxy Z Flip 6 FE will reportedly be priced at $800.

World Sleep Day mattress deals: get the best cheap mattress at its lowest ever price

[ad_1]

It’s World Sleep Day, and so you’d expect all of the top sleep brands to roll out the biggest discounts on the best mattresses, right? That’s definitely what I’d have expected, and I’m in a position to know about such things; I’ve been writing about mattresses for the past few years and I’m thoroughly well acquainted with all the ins and outs of mattress deals.

I have to tell you, though: I’m a little disappointed. Doing my rounds of all the main sleep brands this morning I’ve barely seen any mention of World Sleep Day, and seriously, come on guys. It’s a whole day dedicated to your stock in trade, but all I’m seeing is March sales, spring sales and a St. Patrick’s Day sale (cheers, Saatva).

Fortunately a handful of brands are making a bit of an effort this weekend; I’ve found that two of our top-rated mattresses are available right now for the lowest prices ever, another that’s almost the cheapest I’ve ever seen it, plus a deal from Purple that’s the best value I’ve seen even if it’s not the lowest price. These are the best mattress deals you’re likely to see this weekend; read on for all the details.

Best Buy Selling M1 MacBook Air for $650, a New All-Time Low Price

[ad_1]

Best Buy is selling the 13-inch M1 MacBook Air for $649.99, which is the lowest price that we’ve seen to date on the machine. Best Buy’s price drop comes just hours after Walmart started selling the M1 MacBook Air for $699.

M1 MacBook Air Deals Feature WarmNote: MacRumors is an affiliate partner with some of these vendors. When you click a link and make a purchase, we may receive a small payment, which helps us keep the site running.

Just after Apple announced the new 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models, Best Buy started selling the M1 MacBook Air for $750, so the price has come down $100 in the last 10 days. The model that Best Buy has for $649.99 is the entry-level version with 8GB Unified Memory, an 8-core CPU, a 7-core GPU, and a 256GB SSD.

Apple discontinued the M1 MacBook Air on March 4, which is why we’re seeing such low prices on remaining inventory. The M1 MacBook Air first came out in 2020, so it is four years old at this point, but the Apple silicon chip is still more than adequate for day-to-day tasks. $649 is a great price for those who want to get an Apple silicon Mac while also saving some cash.

As the M1 MacBook Air is no longer being manufactured, available supply is likely to dry up soon. For deals on other Macs, make sure to check out our dedicated Deals Roundup, which we updated regularly.

One of our favorite pairs of noise-cancelling earbuds is down to a record-low price

[ad_1]

The Bose QuietComfort Ultra earbuds are now $250 ahead of the Amazon Spring Sale. This is a discount of 17 percent, as they typically cost $300. It also happens to be a record-low price for the wireless earbuds, though they’ve only been on the market since September of last year. You can find more Bose gear on sale here too.

Bose

The earbuds boast some of the best active noise cancellation around, rivaling many over-ear headphones. That’s the primary reason why the Bose QuietComfort Ultra line made our list of the best wireless earbuds.

However, there’s plenty more to like here. We called out the spatial audio capabilities in our official review, which doesn’t require specially-made content, thanks to virtualization software that works to put the listener right in the middle of the acoustic sweet spot. The battery life is on point, the sound quality is great and the touch controls let users easily change the volume, skip songs and answer calls. These are dang good earbuds.

They aren’t, however, perfect earbuds. As mentioned, the battery life is great, getting anywhere from 16 to 24 hours before needing juice, when you factor in a few trips to the charging case. However, using the spatial audio feature drastically reduces the battery life, so be cautious when enabling different modes. There’s no wireless charging out of the box, as this feature requires a $50 silicone cover for the charging case. Still, today’s discount saves $50, if wireless charging is an absolute must.

8BitDo’s NES-inspired mechanical keyboard is on sale for an all-time low price

[ad_1]

8BitDo’s nostalgic Retro Mechanical Keyboard is on sale for an all-time low price today. The Nintendo-esque accessory ships in NES or Famicom-inspired colorways, and it includes two giant red buttons that would look right at home playing Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!! or Excitebike. 8Bitdo

Get 8BitDo’s Nintendo-inspired keyboard for an all-time low price.

$85 at Amazon

The 8BitDo Retro Mechanical Keyboard supports custom key mapping and works wired or wireless. The “N Edition” takes cues from the NES with an off-white / dark gray / black color scheme. The “Fami Edition” draws inspiration from the Japanese Famicom with a white and crimson color palette.

Both variants have dials and a power indicator with old-school appeal, fitting their retro motif. The Fami Edition pays homage to the Famicom’s 1980s regional availability (and Nintendo’s home country) with Japanese characters below their English ones.

The keyboard’s Super Buttons are bundled accessories you can customize for any action you like. You could assign them as shortcuts to save documents, close windows, attack in games or anything else you feel like. The buttons connect to the keyboard via a 3.5mm jack.

The keyboard lasts an estimated 200 hours on a single (four-hour) charge. It has 87 keys and supports Bluetooth, 2.4GHz wireless and USB modes. While only officially compatible with Windows and Android, the accessory also works with macOS.

Quick! Apple’s AirPods Pro 2 are on sale for a record-low price at Amazon

[ad_1]

We’re in between big tech sales events, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t deals to be had, especially on Apple products. Case in point: right now, you can score the AirPods Pro 2 for $189 at Amazon. That’s the lowest price you can find for the excellent wireless earbuds, making this a great deal to snap up before they are gone.

I’m a big fan of the AirPods Pro, which are my earbuds of choice when I’m out and about, especially when commuting with the active noise cancellation filtering out the roar of trains and the gabble of people who love taking in the morning. As you’ll see in our AirPods Pro 2 review, the second-generation Pro buds build upon the great sound of their predecessors and now come with USB-C charging, meaning there is no longer any need to fuss about finding a Lightning cable.
