Co-op shooter Helldivers 2is back with yet another update, this time adding two all-new Stratagems that seem specifically designed to help combat the brutal Automaton enemy type.
The official Helldivers 2 X / Twitter account confirmed these powerful weapons with a neat, lore-appropriate graphic that shows off the LAS-99 Quasar Cannon and the MG-101 Heavy Machine Gun. Both can be earned in-game and distributed to players on the battlefield by calling them in via their Stratagem loadout.
The post states that these Stratagems “are available now for use against the Automaton horde,” implying that these powerful weapons are particularly effective against the deadly robotic faction.

For those not in the know, Stratagems are powerful items in Helldivers 2 that can seriously turn the tide of battle if used appropriately. They can come in the form of massive guns as seen above, air strikes, placeable turrets or even something as simple as an ammunition resupply. They require players to input a code with the directional buttons, adding a layer of intensity when enemy counts become particularly frightening on if you’re playing on the higher difficulties.
It will be interesting to see existing Helldivers 2 players takes to these new weapons. The game does feature friendly fire which, as you’d expect, often leads to players (accidentally or otherwise) killing members of their team. No doubt this will also be the case with these two powerful Stratagem weapons.
Launching only last month on PlayStation 5 and PC, Helldivers 2 has a long life ahead of it if its immense popularity is anything to go by. Apple retail stores are now receiving information about the company’s new system for wirelessly updating iPhone software prior to sale, iGen reports.
Last week, Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurmanreported that the new proprietary system, called “Presto,” will begin operation across the U.S. in April. Gurman first reported on the wireless system in October, describing it as a “proprietary pad-like device” upon which retail store staff can place a sealed iPhone box. The system wirelessly turns on the iPhone inside, updates its software to the latest available version, and then powers it off.
Presto features small lockers that can accommodate six iPhone boxes simultaneously. There are markings to ensure that boxes are correctly positioned for NFC depending on their size. Once correctly positioned, the iPhone will update within 15 to 30 minutes. iGen has now shared a still from a video showing two of the machines stacked one on top of the other:
Presto was developed by Apple’s Backstage Operations team, which designs tools for technicians and retail store employees. The company developed “Presto” as a way to avoid selling iPhones in retail stores with outdated software. For example, the iPhone 15 series shipped with iOS 17, but Apple subsequently released iOS 17.0.1 before the devices launched. The update was required to fix an issue that prevented the transfer of data directly from another iPhone during the initial setup process.
Apple apparently intends to have the technology in all U.S. retail stores by early summer. Retail locations outside the U.S. are also now receiving information about how Presto works.

Samsung has launched the AI EcoBubble range of front-load fully automatic washing machines in India. For now, the company has revealed only one model in the lineup, WW11CG604DLB, and it should take the wrap off other models in the series in the next few days. Along with that, the brand has announced features, price range, and availability details of the new washing machine range.

The AI EcoBubble washing machines come with many technologies, including AI Wash, AI Energy Mode, Auto Dispense, and Q-Drive. According to Samsung, all those technologies help in improving soil removal by 24%, giving 45.5% better fabric care, protecting clothes by up to 20%, and saving energy by up to 70%.
AI Ecobubble is a combination of Q-Bubble and QuikDrive. The former offers “dynamic drum rotation with additional water shots to create more abundant and powerful bubbles for faster detergent penetration”, whereas, the latter “reduces wash time by up to 50%” On the other hand, AI Wash, along with Auto Dispense, “senses the weight of the load and optimizes the amount of water and detergent required,” and “detects the softness of the fabric and adjusts the wash and spin times to protect it.”
These washing machines also come with Wi-Fi, allowing you to control them from the SmartThings app using your smartphone or tablet.
Pricing and availability details
The AI Ecobubble range of washing machines starts at INR 67,990 and goes up to INR 71,990 and will be available in India from 7 March 2024 on the company’s official online store, Samsung Shop App, and authorized e-commerce platforms and retail stores. The company is offering a 20-year warranty on the motors of these washing machines.
Samsung has listed only one AI EcoBubble washing machine on its website for now, WW11CG604DLB, which has an 11KG capacity and is available in Black. The MRP of the product is INR 67,990 but the company is selling it for INR 53,000. Expect Samsung to make other models in the lineup available to purchase in the next few weeks.

Standard, non-compostable K-Cups are tossed out, which creates an environmental problem. But the benefits of the K-Round aren’t just in removing a potential pollutant from the environment, or the carbon footprint of plastic manufacturing. There are some real benefits from cultivating the seaweed or algae needed to make the new K-Rounds, according to Eleftheria Roumeli, assistant professor at the University of Washington’s Molecular Engineering and Sciences Institute.
“The algae is photosynthetic, so it’s uptaking CO2,” Roumeli says. “That’s why there’s so much incentive right now. The US government alone has given I don’t know how many millions of dollars for algae cultivation, because it’s such a great carbon sequestration mechanism.” The natural process of cultivating algae for purposes like the K-Round increases the amount of carbon captured from the atmosphere. “It’s a really great option, because the algae is a natural carbohydrate that when it decomposes in the environment, there is no problem. Scientifically, it’s not novel, but practically, it’s kind of important that we do it.”
There could be problems down the road if people end up dumping too many K-Rounds or coffee grounds into a specific area, like a backyard. Roumeli says that just like using too much fertilizer or bio char, accumulating too much in one area could disturb ecosystems. But this would still be better than the current situation.
“Definitely the benefits are absolutely outweighing the negatives,” Roumeli says. “One of the best things is that you have something that is now renewable in your lifetime.” However, she warns that companies need to do studies before deciding where they will cultivate algae, as it needs to be in harmony with the local environment.
Keurig says it will be releasing both products to broader audiences after fine-tuning them with some customer feedback. The Keurig Alta and the K-Rounds will enter into a beta test this fall, which you can sign up for here.
