Galaxy S24 was the third best-selling phone in Japan

[ad_1]

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S24 series in January 2024 and launched the flagship smartphones in most countries around the globe the same month. However, in Japan, the company launched those devices only last month (on 11 April 2024). It hasn’t even been a month since then and the Galaxy S24 has already become the third-best-selling smartphone in the country.

The Galaxy S24 was the third highest-selling smartphone from NTT Docomo in Japan in April 2024. The Galaxy S24 Ultra came in the fifth position. Since the company hasn’t launched the Galaxy S24+ in Japan, it’s not on the network carrier’s list of highest-selling smartphones. In case you are wondering which were the first and the second highest-selling phones there, those were the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 15 respectively.

Reportedly, Galaxy AI played an important role in the sales of the Galaxy S24 series in Japan, which isn’t surprising at all considering how amazing the AI-powered features it offers are. Considering the sales number in the first month of launch, the Galaxy S24 and the Galaxy S24 Ultra have the potential to become the highest-selling smartphones in the country in the coming months.

Apple Posts Vision Pro Job Listings in Australia, China, and Japan Following UK Last Year

[ad_1]

Apple this week posted identical job listings related to the Vision Pro in Australia, China, and Japan, as international availability of the headset looms.

Apple Vision Pro with battery Feature Blue Magenta
Apple is looking to hire a so-called “Briefing Experience Specialist” in all three countries. This is a sales position that will involve demonstrating the Vision Pro’s capabilities to business/enterprise customers, according to the job listing.

“You will design and deliver demonstrations that present the capabilities of the product and its revolutionary new technology,” the job listing says. “You will also showcase solutions, representative use cases, and transformative user workflows that inspire customer investment in the technology, the visionOS platform, and the product itself.”

Apple posted the same job listing for the Vision Pro in the U.K. last year, but the headset remains available in the U.S. only following its February 2 launch.

On its website, Apple says the Vision Pro will launch in more countries later this year, but the company has not provided a more specific timeframe, or indicated exactly where the headset will become available next. Last month, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said he believed the Vision Pro would launch internationally before Apple’s annual developers conference WWDC, which typically takes place in the first week of June.

MacRumors contributor Aaron Perris recently obtained information that suggests Apple is preparing to expand the Vision Pro to Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, and the U.K. at a minimum, and the “Briefing Experience Specialist” job listings have now been posted in at least four of those countries.

Thanks, Alicia!

Nissan Ariya NISMO unveiled in Japan (Video)

Nissan Ariya NISMO

Nissan has unveiled the new Ariya NISMO in Japan, the car was made official at the Tokyo Auto Sakon 2024 and this is the company’s new flagship Electric Vehicle, the car gets several upgrades over the Ariya e-4ORCE which it is based on.

Performance that’s extremely dynamic yet smooth and easy to control is produced by the motor’s approximately 10 percent greater peak output combined with special acceleration tuning and an exclusive NISMO driving mode that maximizes response. The sound*1 produced is evocative of Formula E racing, further adding to the excitement.

NISMO’s special tuning for each chassis component combined with e-4ORCE electric-drive four-wheel-control technology and dedicated tires mounted on highly rigid 20-inch aluminum wheels generates superior stability and turn-in ability as well as better line-tracing and enhanced cornering ability at high speeds.

The exterior blends the Ariya’s premium quality with NISMO’s dynamism. Aerodynamic performance is improved thanks to race-derived technologies that reduce drag and provide greater downforce at higher speeds — factors particularly important for EVs.

Shogun TV series an epic of war, passion, and power set in Feudal Japan

Shogun TV series an epic of war passion and power set in Feudal Japan

The upcoming American period drama series Shōgun is set to take viewers on an epic journey through 17th century Japan, a time marked by civil war and political upheaval. The Shogun TV series is based on James Clavell’s 1975 novel of the same name, the series promises a riveting tale of power, passion, and survival, set against the backdrop of a country torn apart by internal conflict.

Set in 1600, the narrative of Shōgun TV series is centered on the struggles of Lord Yoshii Toranaga, a powerful daimyo caught in the throes of a fierce battle for survival against his enemies on the Council of Regents. The story takes an intriguing turn with the appearance of a mysterious European ship found stranded in a nearby fishing village, introducing an element of the unknown into the already volatile mix.

The series promises to be a compelling study of the collision of ambitious men from different worlds. The main characters are John Blackthorne, an English sailor who becomes shipwrecked in Japan, and Lord Toranaga. Blackthorne, a stranger in a foreign land, must navigate the intricacies of Japanese culture and politics, while Lord Toranaga, a seasoned player in the game of power, faces his own battles within the ruling class.

Adding another layer of intrigue is the involvement of a mysterious female samurai, Lady Mariko. Despite her valuable skills, her dishonorable family ties place her in a precarious position, making her a fascinating character to watch as the story unfolds.

Shogun TV series

The series, which will premiere on Hulu and FX, boasts an impressive cast that includes Cosmo Jarvis, Hiroyuki Sanada, and Anna Sawai. Jarvis, known for his roles in “Peaky Blinders” and “Lady Macbeth,” takes on the role of the shipwrecked sailor John Blackthorne. Sanada, a veteran Japanese actor known for his roles in “The Last Samurai” and “Westworld,” brings to life the cunning and powerful Lord Toranaga. Sawai, a rising star seen in “Ninja Assassin” and “Fast & Furious 9,” portrays the enigmatic Lady Mariko.

The Shogun TV series follows in the footsteps of a previous adaptation into a 1980 television miniseries. However, this upcoming series promises to bring a fresh perspective to the classic tale, weaving together historical accuracy, complex characters, and a gripping narrative to create a captivating viewing experience.

The multi-layered narrative of Shogun, the intricate character dynamics, and the rich historical backdrop together promise a series that is as thought-provoking as it is entertaining. As the story of Lord Toranaga’s struggle for survival unfolds, viewers will be transported to a time and place far removed from the present, immersing them in the tumultuous world of feudal Japan. With its blend of history, drama, and intrigue, Shōgun is set to be a must-watch for fans of period dramas.
