Happy Friday! Daniel is here again. Tired of hearing that former President Donald Trump could be impeached any day now? And so are we.

D.C. reporters have been on high alert all week to cover the resolution, which Trump has promised to pass on Tuesday. And still…

We are still waiting.

The preface is written:

His supporters are calling for protests around the Manhattan courthouse and the US Capitol guardhouse.

And when a decision is made, our fingers are waiting to type whatever answer we want.

I mentioned we are still waiting.

Now, if you're one of the lucky few who don't know what I'm talking about, you should know that last Saturday, Trump announced that he was going to be arrested on charges of paying a porn star. Keeping quiet about your 2006 efforts in the 2016 election year.

I give it to Trump. He knows it makes us all stop, look and talk.

The news completely ignored the conference of Republican lawmakers in Orlando, Florida, and for days Trump was the only one who spoke.

Some of the speeches are unwelcome to lawmakers.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy , R-Calif., tweeted:

McCarthy added that he has directed the appropriate committees to investigate whether federal funds are being used "to undermine our democracy through politically motivated interference in elections."

Richard Hudson responded by saying he agreed with McCarthy and that it was disgusting.

"This out-of-control Soros-backed prosecutor is focused on ridiculous, politically motivated prosecutions instead of fighting the crime wave in his city." Hudson tweeted:

Hudson is the chairman of the Republican National Congressional Committee and lives in Southern Pines. If you're not one of his constituents, and he knows it, he was the one who silenced his colleague, Matt Goetz , so he wouldn't derail his representative during January's tough 4th House election. It was all over the news.

Other lawmakers were bombarded with questions from reporters as they held press conferences or walked the halls of the Capitol building. (Sorry senators)

He turned to R. Jeff Jackson , Democrat of Charlotte, on Fox News Live.

Asked about Trump's possible impeachment as a former prosecutor, Jackson was asked what members of Congress were saying about Trump's impeachment.

"It seems like a long time ago," Jackson said. "Everyone deserves their day in court and that no one is above the law."

It happened again when Sen. Ted Budd, R-Davie County, exited the subway between the Russell Building and the U.S. Capitol. Bud told me to have the press secretary make a statement about Trump.

"As charges have not yet been filed, Senator Budd has no further comment, but is deeply concerned about the highly partisan nature of Mr. Bragg's trial," said Budd spokesman Curtis Kalin .

Republican Sen. Tom Tillis of Huntersville arrived minutes later at the U.S. Capitol on another subway from the Dirkson Building.

Tillis said: "We in Congress should be above the mainstream, but why now?" I think it is fair to ask this question.

District Attorney Alvin Bragg decided not to file charges against Trump, and Tillis wondered why Bragg, who takes office in 2022, waited until now.

"The reality can change, but at the same time, if a person appreciates the reality and it is a different attitude, was there a political motivation?" Tillis asked.

Tillis said the evidence suggests the district attorney either had new information that led to an indictment or was politically motivated.

Former chef/owner of Fortina Restaurant Group and 2018 Food Network Star, Christian Petroni, who wears his Bronx persona on his (heavily) tattooed sleeve, will now serve up his cheesy garlic bread at Yankee Stadium.

Stuffed with garlic butter and a blend of mozzarella, pecorino and parmesan, the bread is inspired by the red sauce combinations he cultivates and features his signature 8-hour marinara sauce. There's also a lovely sesame seed bun from a bakery in the Bronx.

Starting March 30, when the ballpark opens, Yankees fans will be able to find it in two varieties, regular or pepperoni, in two concessions, Section 125 and Section 310.

Petroni said that when he's in town, often on his way to TV shoots, he'll bake in the large window of Unit 125.

Ultrathin Superconducting Ink Could Be Used In Quantum Computers

Superconducting inks that can be printed on surfaces in single-molecule layers could be useful for building quantum computer circuits. Tungsten disulfide inks are more stable than other superconducting inks and easier to manufacture, which bodes well for future applications.

When a material is superconducting, electricity can flow through it without resistance, making it a very efficient way to transfer energy. Superconducting materials also have unique magnetic properties, but they are usually difficult to fabricate and break down when exposed to air or at temperatures well below absolute zero.

Princeton University's Xiaoyu Song and Leslie Shoop and their colleagues produced tungsten disulfide ink using a process called chemical exfoliation. They started with a material made of alternating layers of tungsten and potassium disulfide. “Imagine you have a pancake cake. you have all these pancakes stacked on top of each other with custard in between. Tungsten disulfide is the pancake and potassium is the filler,” Song said. When the multilayer components are placed in dilute sulfuric acid, it is similar to immersing a cookie in water; the potassium dissolves, leaving only a thin layer of tungsten disulfide.

When the acid and traces of potassium washed away, the researchers were left with a thin layer of tungsten suspended in the water. This solution can be printed on a glass, plastic, or silicon substrate by creating a one-molecule-thick layer of tungsten disulfide.

Printed images are stable for at least 30 days under ambient conditions without enclosure or protective coating. When cooled below 7.3 Kelvin (-266 °C), the ink becomes superconducting even without a cap. "You can take it with you or let it sit at room temperature and then just refrigerate it," says Shoup. “But that requires liquid helium. unfortunately, this is not possible in a home refrigerator."

This process is much simpler than that used for other superconducting inks, which require a protective coating to prevent degradation over time. This could facilitate industrial production of these inks, although their temperature requirements hinder some potential applications. "It could still be useful for things that are already cooling, like a quantum computer or an MRI machine, where you've already cooled your system significantly," Shoup said. In the future, the researchers hope that this method can be used to produce superconducting inks at higher temperatures.

Hannah Ahrensman, a 35-time national cyclo-cross winner, said in a friendly memo filed with the Supreme Court last week that she was retiring from the sport after placing fourth between two transgender women.

Brief filed in support of the state of West Virginia and the Women's Sports Preservation Act. "All options have to be on the table and that's how I approach it," McHenry said, adding that the focus now is on the cause of the bank's failure.

The Federal Reserve announced Monday it would conduct an internal review of Silicon Valley Bank's oversight and regulation, but Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren called for an independent investigation on ABC's "This Week" Sunday.

"I demand that the Fed and the entire regulatory system conduct an independent investigation here. The Fed cannot conduct its own investigation," Warren said.

China to meet Russia in apparent show of support for Ukraine war

Chinese President Xi Jinping will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin from Monday to Wednesday in what appears to be a show of support for Russia's continued invasion of Ukraine, a move that could have serious geopolitical consequences amid tensions growing between West and East.

China has refused to condemn Moscow as Ukraine continues to resist Russian aggression, trying to portray itself as a neutral third party when so many Western leaders support Ukraine.

Xi's visit comes as US officials have repeatedly warned of the possibility of China arming Russia with military aid. White House spokesman John Kirby urged Xi to also meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and warned China to seek a unilateral peace deal.

TikTok CEO to testify before Congress

As the crackdown on popular social media app TikTok gains traction on Capitol Hill, the app's CEO, Shou Zi Chew, will testify before Congress for the first time on Thursday.

Lawmakers are increasingly concerned about the app's parent company, ByteDance, given its ties to the Chinese government. FBI Director Christopher Wray testified before the Senate Intelligence Committee that the app "screams with national security concerns."

Chew will testify before the House Energy and Commerce Committee and is expected to be questioned about the app's data security practices and how aggressively it handles users' private data.

Who is Gabriel Basso?

Balancing political preferences and career priorities is an easier task when everyone agrees on common principles such as freedom of choice and the rule of law. But what happens when the party promoting all these tax breaks and pro-business policies also falls into populist rhetoric and anti-democratic actions?

A mixed bag in Modi's India
