Samsung is one of the biggest home appliance manufacturers in the world, but it didn’t get there by accident. Samsung always thinks of clever ways to separate itself from the competition. And perhaps one of the best examples of Samsung’s outside-the-box thinking is the MyBespoke service.
MyBespoke allows Bespoke fridge customers to take customization to a new level. Through MyBespoke, customers can pay Samsung to print almost any photo they want on Bespoke refrigerator panels. If that sounds like something you’d like to do, here’s all you need to know.
How do custom Bespoke refrigerator panels work?
It’s simple. Customers only need to go to Samsung’s MyBespoke webpage, select the refrigerator model they own, and specify whether they want to print an image on the top right or top left panel, or both.
Users can then upload an image, edit, and review the design before they go to checkout. Samsung will print your custom image on new Bespoke door panels and ship them to you. A custom print costs $299 for one panel and $598 for both.
Once you get your custom Bespoke panels delivered, all you need to get them installed on your refrigerator is a flathead screwdriver and a suction cup. Samsung provides an instruction video.
Some terms and conditions apply. For example, the image you upload to Samsung must be formatted as .jpg or .jpeg and not exceed 15MB. There are also some resolution requirements depending on which Bespoke fridge model you want to print for.
In addition, Samsung says you can only upload and print photos you have the rights to as long as they’re not “defamatory, obscene, threatening, offensive, or unlawful.” You can read more details here.
If you want to buy a new Bespoke refrigerator, the 2024 models are now available for pre-order and at a limited-time early bird discount. Hit the pre-order button below for more details.
Google‘s Long Exposure photo mode is actually decent. There, I said it. Photographer me is putting his neck on the line by saying that another smartphone computational photography mode, recently given its own tab in Google’s revamped Camera app, is one less reason to use a ‘proper’ camera – and mine’s a TechRadar-approved best mirrorless camera, no less.
I was on a short family break at the coast recently and set an early alarm to sneak out for a little solo time at first light at a secluded cove nearby. It would be me, the gentle lapping waves, and hopefully a little color in the sky. Of course, I would take a camera too.
Hot tea in a travel flask, banana, notepad and pen, mirrorless camera, two pro lenses covering the 24-200mm focal length between them, an ND filter plus a tripod, and I was good to go. Oh, and the Google Pixel 6 was in my pocket.

A steep descent through a wooded area and the sheltered east-facing cove came into view. I’ve learned the importance of enjoying nature first before taking a camera out of the bag, especially given my screen-intensive day job.
After grounding myself in the peace and unrushed pace of the quiet sunrise I started moving around the beach looking for compositions that caught my eye, for photos that would transport me back to what it was like being there.
Sunrise was lovely – not award-winning, but adding a splash of color. The outgoing tide was steadily revealing more of the beach. Small waves crashed against the clay-red sandy incline, climbed up the beach a little, and then retreated around small rocks, creating interesting patterns.

I’ve taken a few long exposure seascape photos down the years, and love the technique, especially for accentuating the movement of water as it retreats around rocks. I take a quick snap of the scene on the Pixel 6 and it occurs to me that I’ve not properly used its Long Exposure photo mode yet, now prominent in the camera app with its own tab.

Most of my favorite images of the morning were taken in vertical format. I’ve made a cooler, moody edit to this photo using the Google Pixel 6’s camera app editor (Image credit: Future | Tim Coleman)

The Long Exposure photo mode blurs movement, while keeping still objects sharp. The creative technique can be used in several ways, with blurring moving water a popular choice. Having observed the water trails, I line up the picture and take the snap.
It works a little like Night Sight – you need to keep your phone as steady as possible while the long exposure is captured. That way the still objects – in this case the rocks, cliff faces, and untouched sand – remain sharp. This computational photography mode is like a pro mirrorless camera’s in-body image stabilization on steroids.
The phone stores both the regular photo and the long exposure effect image (I’ve included both versions of every image for comparison). I have to say, the effect in this scenario is convincing (see above), similar to what I’d expect from my mirrorless camera which remains in the bag 50 meters away up the beach.
Whatever camera you use for long exposure photography (be it mirrorless or a cameraphone) – in this context of accentuating retreating ocean waters – you need to keep trying and trying and trying to get the shot. Timing is so hard.
Your best bet is starting the capture with the wave at its peak up the beach and just as the water starts to retreat. That way the natural path back to the ocean, be it straight or snaking around rocks, is accentuated and depicts the tidal energy.
Image 1 of 2
Not all scenes are worth using the Long Exposure photo mode for. The water is too far away in this composition and now I’m blowing out highlights.(Image credit: Future | Tim Coleman)
For this scene I prefer the standard photo. Also, if you look closely at the detail in the image using the Long Exposure photo mode, it’s a little softer.(Image credit: Future | Tim Coleman)
Google Pixel’s Long Exposure mode isn’t perfect – detail is usually softer than in the standard version – but it’s pretty darn good and convincing enough that I didn’t really need to bring my mirrorless camera, tripod, and ND filters along for the ride. If I owned the OM System OM-1 II (or OM-1), I could use that camera’s Live ND computational photography mode instead and leave the tripod and ND filters behind.
I haven’t lost faith in my ‘proper’ camera, far from it. Towards the end of my time at the beach, while still alone, a playful seal popped its head up like a floating rock. I steamed back up the beach to my bag, grabbed the camera with a 70-200mm lens, and got a few photos that far exceed what I could possibly hope to get with the Pixel 6 – though some of today’s best cameraphones might have done a decent job.
I’ll also still use my ‘proper’ camera with tripod and ND filters for long exposure photography, too. It’s just that now I might think twice if lugging all of that gear to get the creative effect is worth it when I have the computational mode in a device that slips into my pocket.

Google next month will make its latest AI-powered photo editing feature available to all users of Google Photos on iOS, the company has announced.
Magic Editor, which featured heavily in last year’s Google Pixel 8 series marketing blitz, uses generative AI to perform complicated photo edits, such as filling in gaps in a photo, repositioning subjects, and additional foreground/background adjustments like making a cloudy, grey sky look blue.
The edits mimic the kind of possibilities afforded by more professional editing tools like Photoshop, except Magic Editor achieves its automated results via AI, rather than the user having to do them manually.
To editing tool debuted as one of the headline AI features on the company’s flagship phone when it launched six months ago, and has since been exclusive to Google Pixel 8 owners and Google One subscribers. The tool will become available to all users of Google Photos starting May 15.
Google Photos for iOS and Android will include 10 Magic Editor saves per month. To use more than that, users will need to buy a Premium Google One plan, which starts at 2TB of storage for $10 per month or $100 annually.
In addition to Magic Editor, Google is bringing several more editing tools to Google Photos, including Photo Unblur, Sky suggestions, Color pop, HDR effect for photos and videos, Portrait Blur, Portrait Light (plus its add light/balance light features), Cinematic Photos, Styles in the Collage Editor, and Video Effects.
To use the AI features, Apple devices must be running iOS 15 or later. Google Photos is a free download for iPhone and iPad available on the App Store.

CleanMyPhone is a new app that will tidy up your photo library. Developed by MacPaw, maker of CleanMyMac X, the new app can do a thorough scan of images on your iPhone to clear out years of screenshots, saved TikToks and unusably blurry shots. It’s a simple way to clean up photos on your iPhone.
It also uses artificial intelligence to sort your photos into handy categories. Plus, it makes it simple to periodically look at the last week or month of your photos to sort things into albums and stay organized. As a bonus, the app comes with an internet speed test — good for checking if your connection is solid enough to take an important video call.
Clean up and organize your photo library with the CleanMyPhone app [Review]
I have … a lot of screen recordings. Screenshot: D. Griffin Jones/Cult of Mac
Immediately you’ll notice how beautifully designed the CleanMyPhone app is. Open the app and you’ll see a quick walkthrough of the main features, with gorgeous graphics on a colorfully animated background. Make sure you enable access to all photos — that’s essential for the core features to work.
Hit the Scan button to search through your photos for clutter to eliminate. The scan surfaces screenshots, blurry pictures, duplicates, screen recordings, TikTok videos and albums generated by apps.
Tap on any category to get a closer look at what the CleanMyPhone scan flagged. You can mark some of the items as Sensitive, if you like, so the app won’t ever remove them. (If you delete something accidentally, you have 30 days to recover it from the Recently Deleted folder in Photos.)
Once you’re finished, just tap the satisfying Clean button to clear your iPhone of duplicate photos and other clutter.
As you can see from the screenshot above, I have gigabytes of screen recordings and screenshots that it surfaced. Many of these were for work (and have already been published in articles and archived elsewhere) and didn’t need to be in my library.
Personally, I don’t understand why it thinks Snapchats are clutter. All of these are pictures and videos I just happened to capture with Snapchat instead of the regular camera and saved to my library intentionally. But it’s easy to mark them as sensitive (or ignore the category entirely).
Keep yourself organized
Don’t just clean the house — get someone to keep it up. Screenshot: D. Griffin Jones/Cult of Mac
One-time cleans are all well and good for cutting out cruft, but any parent can tell you that staying organized is arguably more important. Go to the Organize tab for a quick review of the last week or the last month of photos.
The CleanMyPhone app will sort your pictures into albums, using AI to put them into a few categories: Portraits, Travel, Pets, Food, Text, Other.
In each category, you can see Similars (groups of photos all taken in a batch, where you only need to keep the best few) and Unique photos (one-offs you may or may not need). Pick the photos you want to keep (and which you want to remove), then tap Finish.
You can keep coming back to this tab regularly to keep your library tidy. I think this kind of habit-making digital cleanliness could really tickle the right kind of person (like someone who compulsively clears their running apps).
But wait, there’s One More Thing™
Mediocre internet that I pay truly heinous prices for in rural Ohio. Screenshot: D. Griffin Jones/Cult of Mac
The CleanMyPhone app also gives you a tool for testing your internet speed. To use it, just tap the Network tab at the bottom and then hit Test. I normally just go to fast.com, but this is certainly a more beautiful experience.
During CleanMyPhone’s speed test, numbers whizz by the top of your iPhone screen and a big glowing graph is drawn live. When it finishes, the app will tell you what your internet connection can handle. For instance, it can tell you whether your connection is good enough to handle live gaming or a video call, or whether you should just stick to audio.
I really love this interface. If the developers made a little Mac app of this same interface (it wouldn’t even need the photo library stuff) I would pay an irresponsible amount of money for it considering fast.com is free.
Where to get the CleanMyPhone app
Price: $24.99 per year with three-day trial Download from:App Store
CleanMyPhone is a delightful utility that will bring a spark of joy to the otherwise tedious chore of sorting through thousands of photos. I can easily foresee MacPaw adding more different tools to CleanMyPhone over time, to match the Swiss army knife-utility that is CleanMyMac X.
And CleanMyMac X remains the best way to keep your Mac in tip-top shape. You can use MacPaw’s flagship Mac app to clear out malware and adware, scope out the giant hidden files filling up your disk, and keep an eye on the apps that are hogging all your memory.

We need photos that are of sufficient quality to print — as a general rule, they should be at least 2,000 pixels on their longer edge.
If you need help or advice, read this feature on how to take great photos, written by one of Nature’s media editors (see ‘Capture the moment’). And check out Nature’s award-winning Where I Work section, a series of photo-led profiles of researchers in their workplaces.
Capture the moment
There are no hard and fast rules for taking great photographs, but professional photographers and media editors have some general advice for those who are new to working with a camera.
• Establish a connection with your subject. Make them feel comfortable for a candid shot.
• Understand the environment’s light. Use it to bring out detail in the scene.
• Capitalize on colours. Look for chromatic contrast, union and metaphor in colours.
• Use a tripod. Tools such as these stabilize your camera and will help to avoid blur or framing mistakes.
• Find a clean background. A busy background can distract from the subject.
• Play with camera angles and perspective. Try to be inventive, and look beyond standard ‘stock photography’ images.
• Photograph at the golden hour when shooting outdoors. A low angle of sunlight often creates warm, diffuse light and interesting shading.
• Remember the rule of thirds. Split your frame into thirds, and fill some — but not all — of them with your subject.
• Keep the subject’s eyes in focus. They’re often the best way to bring a viewer close to the subject.
• Shoot, check, re-compose, re-shoot. Take many photos using different angles and ideas to catch the best one.
More inspiration might come from the winners of our 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2022 competitions.
Full terms and conditions can be found in the Supplementary information.
Good luck, and we look forward to seeing your photos.

This is particularly beneficial for those looking to produce high-quality prints or utilize their images in digital formats where clarity is paramount. The Magnific AI doesn’t just stop at upscaling; it also introduces workflow enhancements that save time and effort, enabling you to focus more on the creative aspects of your projects.

Additionally, it includes visual comparison features that allow you to see the impact of your adjustments in real-time, ensuring that you can achieve the level of photorealism you desire.
AI image upscaler
Image upscaling is a process used to increase the resolution of an image. This involves enlarging the pixel dimensions of an image while striving to maintain as much of the original quality and detail as possible. The challenge in upscaling lies in adding new pixels while ensuring they blend seamlessly with the existing ones to create a higher-resolution image that appears natural and undistorted.
Here are some other articles you may find of interest on the subject of AI art generation :
When it comes to standing out in the competitive field of AI upscalers, Magnific AI distinguishes itself with its unique offerings and attractive pricing. Ease of use is another benefit of the Midjourney V6 Alpha. Thanks to its natural language understanding, communicating with the AI and expressing your creative intentions has never been simpler. The results speak for themselves, with upscaled images that boast detail accuracy and realism that can rival high-resolution originals.
Efficiency is also a key feature of the Magnific AI, which operates with improved performance, making it an excellent choice for remastering old or low-resolution photos. The ability to add details and breathe new life into these images can be a game-changer for those looking to preserve memories or revitalize vintage photography.
What is an image upscale
There are two primary methods of image upscaling: traditional and AI-based. Traditional methods, such as nearest-neighbor or bicubic interpolation, work by calculating new pixel values based on the surrounding pixels. These methods are straightforward but often result in images that are blurry or have visible artifacts, especially when the upscaling factor is large.
AI-based methods, on the other hand, use machine learning models that have been trained on large datasets of images. These models learn complex patterns and textures, enabling them to predict and generate high-resolution details more effectively than traditional methods. This approach often results in images that are sharper and more detailed, with fewer artifacts. AI-based upscaling is particularly effective for large upscaling factors and can be tailored to specific types of images, such as faces, landscapes, or text.
In practical applications, image upscaling is used in various fields, including digital photography, film restoration, medical imaging, and video game enhancement. It allows for older or lower-quality content to be repurposed for modern, high-resolution displays. However, the effectiveness of upscaling depends on the original image quality, the upscaling method used, and the extent of the enlargement.
Magnific AI
To get the most out of the Magnific AI upscaler, it’s important to use the settings for creativity, resemblance, and fractality judiciously. Experimentation can lead to stunning results, but it’s also crucial to be aware of any biases and to consider reusing upscaled images to save time and resources.
When evaluating the value of an AI upscaler, pricing is always a consideration. Magnific AI’s combination of features and performance offers a strong competitive edge, but it’s still important to compare it with other options on the market, such as Topaz Gigapixel, to ensure that you’re making a cost-effective decision.
The Magnific AI image upscaler for Midjourney V6 Alpha is more than just a tool; it’s a partner in your creative journey. With its advanced features, commitment to efficiency, and dedication to producing photorealistic results, it stands as an indispensable asset for anyone looking to take their digital images to the next level. Whether you’re a seasoned professional or a passionate hobbyist, the Magnific AI is poised to help you achieve a new standard of image quality that can truly enhance your work.
