If you’re planning to catch the FIFA World Cup 2026 on your mobile device, there’s a new option available in Malaysia.
Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo has announced that FIFA World Cup 2026 matches will be streamed for free via the MyGOV app.
According to Gobind, users who are registered with MyDigital ID will be able to access the live broadcasts on their mobile devices through the MyGOV app alongside traditional streaming platforms.
The announcement comes as the government continues to position MyGOV as a single digital hub for government services and information.
Introduced as a one-stop platform for government-related services, MyGOV allows users to access various public services and personal information in a single app. The MyGOV app is available on the Google Play Store, Apple App Store and Huawei AppGallery.
Among the services offered are identity-related information such as MyKad details, driving licence information, passport status, police and JPJ summonses, unclaimed money records, local authority bills and more.
At the time of writing, a new LIVE TV section has already appeared on the MyGOV app home screen. The section currently lists RTM channels including TV1, TV2, Okey TV, Sukan RTM and Berita RTM.
However, the in-app live TV streams are not operational yet at the time of writing.
FIFA World Cup 2026 kicks off on 12 June
The FIFA World Cup 2026 officially begins on Friday, 12 June at 3:00AM (Malaysia Time) with the opening match taking place in Mexico.
Besides MyGOV, RTM’s live broadcasts are also available for free through RTMKlik via a web browser.
Alternatively, you can download the RTMKlik app on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
