Notice: Apple ID Balances in Singapore Cannot Be Spent Starting July 1

[ad_1]

Starting July 1, it will no longer be possible to spend an Apple ID balance in Singapore, according to an Apple support document spotted by MacRumors contributor Aaron Perris. Apple did not provide an explanation for this decision, but it appears to relate to new regulations introduced by the Monetary Authority of Singapore.

Apple Giftcard Feature
Apple says that any App Store & iTunes gift cards added to an Apple ID balance before July 1 can still be used toward digital purchases until that deadline.

Apple will issue refunds to customers with a remaining Apple ID balance after the deadline:

After spending your balance is no longer possible, Apple will begin to automatically issue refunds for any remaining Apple ID balance to users in Singapore. If you have a balance, your money will be refunded to the default credit or debit card on file as a payment method for your Apple ID. You’ll receive a confirmation email when Apple has processed your refund. Afterwards, it might take up to 30 days for your financial institution to show the refund in your account.

Apple already stopped selling gift cards in Singapore last year, and discontinuing Apple ID balances appears to be a related decision.

Apple Store gift cards are unaffected by this change, and they can continue to be used at the three Apple Store locations in Singapore.

For more important details, read Apple’s support document.

‘Apple ID’ Expected to Change to ‘Apple Account’ Starting With iOS 18

[ad_1]

MacRumors was first to report that Apple was planning to rebrand “Apple ID” to “Apple Account” across its software platforms and websites like iCloud.com as early as this year, and now Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman has corroborated this change.

iOS 17 Passkey With Apple ACCOUNT Feature
In his Power On newsletter today, Gurman said the new “Apple Account” branding will start to be used later this year both online and in Apple’s next major software releases, such as iOS 18 for the iPhone and watchOS 11 for the Apple Watch.

Apple already refers to funds added to an Apple ID as an “Apple Account balance,” and Gurman said there is an “Apple Account” team within the company. With the full rebranding later this year, the term Apple ID is expected to be completely phased out, over two decades after the company started using it. Apple’s reasoning behind the decision is not known, but “Apple Account” would be more straightforward branding.

Apple will preview iOS 18 and its other major software updates at its developers conference WWDC in June, and the rebranding to “Apple Account” will likely be announced then. The updates should be widely released in September.

Mauricio Pochettino speaks on the chance of Ben Chillwell and Armando Broja starting against Brighton in the Carabao Cup.

Chelsea will host Brighton in the 1/16 of the EFL Cup at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea are experiencing a poor run of performance in the Premier League and will be hoping to edge past stubborn Brighton in the EPL Cup.

Ben Chillwell started the first four Premier League matches for Chelsea but has found himself on the bench in Chelsea’s last two matches, coming on as a substitute.

Chelsea striker Armando Broja was off due to injury since last season but made a comeback as a substitute in Chelsea’s defeat to Aston Villa.

Providing an early Team News ahead of Chelsea’s game against Brighton, Mauricio Pochettino said at A Press Conference when asked whether Armando Broja will start against Brighton: “He’s not ready to start. He is helping the team, and he is doing well, but he needs time to be fit again to be able to start a game. I think for 20 or 30 minutes he is able to help the team, but he’s still not ready to start.”

On Ben Chillwell, He added: “I am so happy with Levi in the way that he is playing, and he has shown character and I think he provides the team with a very good balance. I think Chilly is going to have the possibility to play, I think tomorrow he is going to play.

“Always there is the expectation, of what we expect from the players. We were using Chilly maybe not in his best position, because he was a winger. That is why after we started to play with a winger, like Misha when he recovered or maybe Sterling, in that position, our thought was to keep Levi in the position because he is doing well.”

Mauricio Pochettino also revealed that the combination of Thiago Silva on the left side of the defense and Levi Colwill as the left back bring more balance to the team.

He added: “Thiago is really doing well. The way that we want to play and the moment that we recover some offensive players like Mudryk, it helps that he’s very good building from the back. He’s strong, and you need a strong defensive line. Looking at the data we have on defensive situations, the team is one of the best in the league, and that looks like we are doing well.

“Then, when you have an offensive player in front sometimes you don’t need a full-back that can go on the attack. It’s all a question of balance and I’m happy with Levi because he provides very good things and at the moment, because always in football things can change, we are happy with him playing there.”

What will be Mauricio Pochettino’s starting Lineup against Brighton? You can leave your predicted Lineup in the comment section.
