Amazon Big Spring sale: This Samsung TV is one of our best-rated – and it’s down to a near record-low price

[ad_1]

The Samsung Q80C is one of the best TVs on the market, giving an excellent QLED picture and plenty of gaming features in a variety of sizes, all for a competitive price. Now, it’s gotten even cheaper as part of the big online spring sale at different retailers.

As part of the Amazon Spring Sale, the 65-inch Samsung Q80C is available for a near record-low $997.99 (was £1,397.99) at Walmart in the US. Meanwhile, for those in the UK, you can find it for a brilliant £874 (was £939) at Amazon.

Today’s best Samsung Q80C deal in the US

Today’s best Samsung Q80C deal in the UK

In our review of the Samsung Q80C, we called it a “mid-range marvel” that offered a “mid-range masterclass” to other TV makers, and it’s clear to see why. We were impressed by its bright, bold and colorful picture but also just as impressed at how deep its black levels were – something other QLED TVs can struggle with. It also has fantastic lighting control – again much better than expected – leaving us questioning “how the heck has Samsung managed to pull this off with such an affordable TV’?

The Q80C also offers a serious, mid-range option for gamers. It comes with a 144Hz refresh rate, VRR, including AMD Freesync Premium and ALLM compatibility as well as a comprehensive Game Mode and Hub and a 9.7ms input lag time.  or those gamers looking to get the most out of their consoles and TV, the Q80C is one for your consideration.

Samsung Galaxy S24 smartphones drop to record-low prices for the Amazon Big Spring Sale

[ad_1]

They have only been around for a matter of weeks, but Samsung Galaxy S24 smartphones are already on sale for record-low prices in the Amazon Big Spring Sale. Perhaps you’ve been waiting for a solid deal on the top-end Galaxy S24 Ultra, which usually starts at $1,300 for a version with 256GB of storage. That variant is currently $150 off at $1,150.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra has dropped to its lowest price to date of $1,150.

$1,150 at Amazon

We gave the Galaxy S24 Ultra a score of 89 in our review. We found it to be very expensive (this sale helps mitigate that!) and the design and lack of Qi 2 support were drawbacks. However, we appreciated the camera upgrades and felt the S24 Ultra delivered great performance and offered terrific battery life. It often had a 50 percent charge remaining after 24 hours of regular use, thanks to the large battery and power efficiency gains afforded by the new processor.

One other major thing the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset powers is a host of on-device generative AI (GAI) features, the big selling point for the Galaxy lineup this year as Samsung tries to compete with Google Pixel devices on that front. An interpreter mode can translate languages during calls, while the Chat Assist tool can check the grammar, spelling and tone of your messages before sending them. There are also AI-powered options for image editing and search. While the AI tools more or less work as expected, we felt that they’re not quite as polished as Google’s versions. Nevertheless, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is our pick for the best premium Android phone.

The Galaxy S24+ is also $150 off. That too marks a record low for a version with 256GB of storage — the handset currently costs $850. Like its smaller sibling, the S24, the S24+ earned a score of 87 in our review. We appreciated the battery life and (for the most part) the GAI tools, though we felt that low-light photography performance was somewhat lacking.

The prices of several other Samsung products have dropped as part of the Amazon Big Spring Sale. Those who prefer foldables may be more interested in the Galaxy Z Flip 5. Again, that’s $150 off at $850 for 256GB of storage. However, it’s $50 more than the lowest price we’ve seen for the handset thus far.

The Amazon Echo Buds are down to a record-low $35 for the Big Spring Sale

[ad_1]

The Amazon Big Spring Sale is in full swing, and one of our favorite affordable pairs of wireless earbuds is even cheaper because of it. The 2023 Echo Buds are down to $35 in this Amazon deal, which is their lowest price yet. These Echo Buds have a lot of improvements over the previous model, and we like them for their detailed and balanced sound profile, built-in Alexa support and five hours of battery life. It’s also worth noting that this deal is available to anyone. Unlike Prime Day, this sale event isn’t as heavy on Prime-exclusive discounts.

The third-generation Echo Buds were redesigned to lose the silicone tips and adopt a more AirPods-like form factor. This leads to a more open design that makes it easier to listen to music, podcasts or audiobooks without blocking out your environment. Despite the buds themselves being longer than previous models, their USB-C charging case remains pleasingly compact.

The buds support multipoint connectivity, so you can seamlessly switch them between host devices. Setup takes place in the Alexa app, where you can view the battery life of each earbud and their charging case. You can also control their EQ, SideTone (how much of your voice you hear during calls) and VIP Filter settings in the app. It even has a Find My tool to help you locate them if you ever lose them.

None of that would matter if the Echo Buds sounded terrible, but we were impressed with what they offer for their price point. After testing them, Engadget’s Billy Steele wrote, “Softer and acoustic genres like bluegrass, folk and lighter country sound great, with the warm strums of Zach Bryan’s guitars and vocals on American Heartbreak cutting through the mix.” He found the Echo Buds’ tuning to be generally well-balanced across genres.

One of our favorite pairs of noise-cancelling earbuds is down to a record-low price

[ad_1]

The Bose QuietComfort Ultra earbuds are now $250 ahead of the Amazon Spring Sale. This is a discount of 17 percent, as they typically cost $300. It also happens to be a record-low price for the wireless earbuds, though they’ve only been on the market since September of last year. You can find more Bose gear on sale here too.

Bose

The earbuds boast some of the best active noise cancellation around, rivaling many over-ear headphones. That’s the primary reason why the Bose QuietComfort Ultra line made our list of the best wireless earbuds.

However, there’s plenty more to like here. We called out the spatial audio capabilities in our official review, which doesn’t require specially-made content, thanks to virtualization software that works to put the listener right in the middle of the acoustic sweet spot. The battery life is on point, the sound quality is great and the touch controls let users easily change the volume, skip songs and answer calls. These are dang good earbuds.

They aren’t, however, perfect earbuds. As mentioned, the battery life is great, getting anywhere from 16 to 24 hours before needing juice, when you factor in a few trips to the charging case. However, using the spatial audio feature drastically reduces the battery life, so be cautious when enabling different modes. There’s no wireless charging out of the box, as this feature requires a $50 silicone cover for the charging case. Still, today’s discount saves $50, if wireless charging is an absolute must.

Quick! Apple’s AirPods Pro 2 are on sale for a record-low price at Amazon

[ad_1]

We’re in between big tech sales events, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t deals to be had, especially on Apple products. Case in point: right now, you can score the AirPods Pro 2 for $189 at Amazon. That’s the lowest price you can find for the excellent wireless earbuds, making this a great deal to snap up before they are gone.

I’m a big fan of the AirPods Pro, which are my earbuds of choice when I’m out and about, especially when commuting with the active noise cancellation filtering out the roar of trains and the gabble of people who love taking in the morning. As you’ll see in our AirPods Pro 2 review, the second-generation Pro buds build upon the great sound of their predecessors and now come with USB-C charging, meaning there is no longer any need to fuss about finding a Lightning cable.
