Turtle Beach VelocityOne Race Wheel and Pedals review: a serviceable racing sim package, but one that’s priced too high

[ad_1]

While Turtle Beach excels in and is famous for its prowess in the audio department, the brand also has numerous controllers on offer – and now they’ve expanded into the racing simulation market. Branded as the VelocityOne series of equipment, their flightdeck, flightstick, rudder, and control system are now joined by a racing wheel and pedals fit for any and all modern racing games on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.

However, $650 / £630 (about AU$950) is a hefty price tag when you consider other options such as the more reasonably priced Logitech G920/3, or the astoundingly expensive – but widely considered to be the best racing wheel on the market – Logitech G Pro.

The race for the ultimate voice assistant is heating up with Samsung announcing Bixby’s generative AI boost

[ad_1]

Bixby’s never really been my smart home voice assistant of choice, and I’d wager that’s the same for most smart home enthusiasts. Much like Apple’s Siri, Bixby is more of a nice-to-have for those already in the wider Samsung ecosystem, lagging behind in terms of features and functionality when compared to the likes of Google Assistant and Alexa.

That could all be about to change, however. During this week’s series of global launch events, Samsung announced that Bixby is about to get a whole lot smarter, thanks to Generative AI.

What will a boosted Bixby look like?

Audi RS e-tron GT Ice Race Edition unveiled

Audi RS e-tron GT Ice Race Edition

Audi has revealed a special edition version of its Audi e-tron GT, the Audi RS e-tron GT Ice Race Edition and just four right-hand drive versions of the car will be made, a total of 99 cars worldwide, each one with cost £150,630 on the road.

Audi RS e-tron GT Ice Race Edition

Its starting point is a fully electric RS e-tron GT finished in Florett Silver metallic with a black CFRP roof. This is then embellished by a striking foil wrap incorporating silver and white accents referencing snow crystals and ice lakes, and violet detailing representing the bright shades of wintersports eyewear. The foil features targeted transparencies and so does not tint the entire surface, and the white tones it adds achieve a three-dimensional effect against the monochrome silver background. White renderings of the four rings at the front and rear echo the ice race edition concept car, and in combination dark privacy glass the 21-inch black alloy wheels provide striking contrast.

The colour scheme is continued in the interior, which features an Audi exclusive leather package in a diamond silver and black colour combination with violet contrast stitching, and extends the coverage of supple Fine Nappa leather beyond the seats to the upper parts of the centre console, the instrument panel, the door rails and the door armrests. RS floormats with diamond silver piping and violet stitching around the RS logo also set the tone, while Audi exclusive insignias in the Dinamica microfibre door trim inserts attest to the model’s very special status.

ABT XGT is a road lkegal Audi R8 race car

ABT XGT

ABT has unveiled its latest modified and tuned Audi, the ABT XGT, and the car is described as a road-legal race car and is based on the Audi R8, the car weighs in at just 1,400 KG and comes with 640 horsepower.

The new ABT XGT is powered by a 5.2 liter V10 FSI engine that produces 640 horsepower and production will be limited to just 99 cars worldwide, it certainly looks impressive from the photos.

ABT XGT

As a traditional racing team, ABT Sportsline has contested more than 300 races in the DTM since 2000, achieved dozens of individual victories and over 250 podium finishes and is currently the most successful active DTM team. The best prerequisites for an ambitious project like the XGT. But it is more than just a project: “It was the challenge itself that spurred us on to develop this unique complete vehicle. The XGT is the quintessence of our heritage,” explains Hans-Jürgen Abt with pride in his voice. Because it was not easy to get the GT2 racing car on the road – the requirements of motorsport and road traffic are too far apart.

ABT XGT

This car is lighter than the original R8 which it is based on, that car weighed in at 1,570 kg, so the extra power and lower weight should bring improved performance. You can find out more details about the new ABT XGT over at ABT at the link below.

The Republican presidential primary race in the first caucus state heats up.

This weekend, most of the Republican candidates for president are back in Iowa, where “the rubber meets the road” as the time counts down to the caucuses in January.
DES MOINES, IA— With only four months left until the Iowa caucuses, almost all of the Republican candidates for the White House are back this weekend in the state that starts the nomination process for the GOP.

The candidates for president are speaking at the Iowa Faith and Freedom Coalition’s annual fall banquet on Saturday night. They are each making their case to a large and influential crowd of social conservative leaders, activists, and Evangelical voters, who play a big role in Republican politics in the Hawkeye State.

It’s no longer Labor Day. “Now that the kids are back in school, people are starting to really pay attention,” said Jimmy Centers, a longtime Republican organizer and speaker from Iowa.

Centers said that people started to wake up and understand the caucuses were coming when they went to the Iowa State Fair last month, where all but one of the many Republican presidential candidates campaigned for votes.
Nicole Schlinger, a veteran Iowa Republican operative and consultant, said, “Once Labor Day is over, school starts, and the weather starts to change, that’s when people start thinking about elections and start looking into the candidates more seriously in order to make a choice.”

As the 2024 Republican primaries and caucuses quickly approach, former President Donald Trump remains the clear front-runner for his party’s ticket. He is running for the White House for the third time in a row.

And his record four criminal charges, including two for supposedly trying to change the fact that he lost the 2020 election to President Biden, seem to have only increased his support among potential Republican primary voters.
The latest national Fox News poll on the GOP nomination race, which was done from September 9th to 12th and came out on Thursday, showed that Trump’s already huge lead over the rest of the candidates was growing.

But Trump’s lead in the latest polls in Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina, three of the most important early voting states for the Republican nomination, is not as big. This is true even though he is still far ahead of his competitors.

“It’s closer in Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina than it is nationally, but it’s not close,” said David Kochel, a senior Republican adviser who has worked on many GOP presidential campaigns in Iowa and across the country.

Kochel said that Christian voters in Iowa tend to “move together… and they move late.”
Trump is one of the few GOP presidential candidates who won’t be at the Faith and Freedom Coalition’s “cattle call” on Saturday, but the former president will be back in Iowa the following week.

Schlinger, who is well-known in the social right community, said that Trump’s “track record on life issues is very good” and that it’s not strange that his big double-digit lead in Iowa polls hasn’t changed much.

But she also said, “I think there’s a way for one or two other candidates to do well and beat expectations in Iowa… The door is open, but someone has to walk through it, which hasn’t happened yet.”

But all of the experts said that now is the time for Trump’s opponents to act.

“This is where things get serious. It’s no longer Labor Day. “Now is the time for debates,” Kochel said. “If you’re not firing on all cylinders right now and you don’t have the money to get through New Hampshire, it’s best to step aside and get out of this thing so we can figure out who might be able to take on Trump one-on-one.”
