EXCLUSIVE : Christina Milian ( Step Up: High Water ) and Steven Strait ( The Expanse ) will star in MarVista Entertainment's unproduced thriller Body Language . Directed by Corey Miller, who marks Milian's first film as a producer, the film also stars Annie Gonzalez ( The Hot Fire ), Gregg Wayans ( Just Kidding ) and Robert Belushi ( The Ballers ).
Written by Miller and Belushi, Body Language revolves around Mariana (Milian), who works as a human resources manager at a large security company. Mariana is great at reading people, which is put to the test one night when her boyfriend's enigmatic college friend Dylan (Straight) arrives to cook the engagement dinner.
Milian is joined by Chad and Carey Hayes ( "The Conjuring "), as well as Neon Kite's Lisa White and Jay Glaser, Belushi and Mandy June Turpin on Body Language . Carmen Milian is an Executive Producer for MarVista Entertainment along with Larry Grimaldi, Hannah Pilemer and Fernando Shew.
"I am very much looking forward to producing and starring in my first film," Milian said. “It's a thriller that I've never done before. I really reacted to this story because it's something that could totally happen in real life, and it scares me even more.
“What I admire about this film is that it is such a simple thriller that its credibility is frightening. It can happen to anyone," Miller said. "It was a real pleasure to work with Chad and Cary Hayes on this story and then watch the incredible cast bring it to life."

Milian is an actress and songwriter whose recent credits include films like Love in the Fall of Love and Sanctuary of Love . She currently stars in Step Up: High Water , which joined Starz in October for its third season debut. Other television appearances include "The Oath " and " Baba ".
Strait previously starred as James Holden on the popular sci-fi series The Expanse , which ran for six seasons. The actor is also known for starring in Starz creator Mitch Glaser's series The Magic City alongside Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Olga Kurylenko and others. Other credits include ABC's " Revenge " and "Fish Dream ," " City Island , " "Stop Losing " and " 10,000 BC ."
MarVista Entertainment, a Fox Entertainment company, was founded in 2003.
