According to authorities, a US citizen was murdered and two others were slightly injured in a rafting accident in northwestern Slovenia on Wednesday.
The disaster occurred Tuesday while two rafts carrying 16 people and a guide were cruising down the Soca River, according to authorities. One of the boats collided with a boulder, and the occupants tumbled into the river. When the other boat arrived to assist, it also collided with a rock, and its passengers and a guide tumbled into the sea, according to authorities.
The current took away a 55-year-old American man, who was later discovered dead. Two more Americans were injured lightly. The rest of the passengers made it safely onshore.
The accident has been investigated by police.
