U Mobile appears to have experienced a major nationwide network outage in the early hours of today (22nd July 2026), leaving many subscribers without mobile service for about an hour. This affects not only access to U Mobile’s 5G network but also their 4G services as well.
Reports started surfacing on social media at around 1:00am, with affected users sharing that their phones displayed “No Service” or “No Network”.
The issue wasn’t limited to the Klang Valley, as U Mobile users in Ipoh, Penang and Johor also reported having issues connecting to their network.
The network appeared to be restored in stages from around 2:30am onwards, with most users reporting that service had gradually returned.
The orange telco’s outage was also reflected on Downdetector, which showed a sharp spike in user reports beginning at 1:05am with 157 reports. Reports peaked at 1:20am with 289 reports before tapering off, with the number of reports dropping significantly by around 3:05am.

At the time of writing, U Mobile has not issued a public statement explaining the cause of the outage or confirming the incident.
We’ve reached out to U Mobile for comment and will update this post once we receive a response.
