Pova 8 5G Malaysia Specs and Features

The Tecno Pova 8 5G features a 6.76-inch Full HD+ (2344×1080) display with a 144Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it runs on a 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 7100 5G processor paired with 8GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 storage.
To keep temperatures in check during extended gaming sessions, the smartphone comes with Ice Cooling System 3.0 which features a 15,000mm² graphite cooling area. Tecno says the cooling system offers a 12.5% improvement in thermal efficiency over the previous generation. With the new Dimensity 7100 5G processor, Tecno says the Pova 8 can support gameplay at up to 90fps for games such as Honor of Kings and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
For taking pictures, the Pova 8 5G packs a 50MP Sony LYT-600 main camera and an unnamed secondary shooter presumably for depth effects. It also comes with a 13MP selfie camera camera.

Another key features is the Alive Matrix Display, an interactive rear dot-matrix lighting system which seems to be heavily inspired by Nothing Phone’s Glyph interface. The Matrix Display supports 49 predefined scenarios and users can customise lighting effects for incoming calls, notifications, charging, music playback and gaming.

As usual with new smartphones these days, the device comes with AI-assisted features including AI LightMaster 2.0, AI YouTube Summary, All-Scenario Noise Cancellation and AI Writing.
The biggest highlight is its 8,000mAh battery, which Tecno claims can deliver up to two days of battery. It also supports 45W fast charging, which is said to offer up to 50% charge in around 35 minutes. Tecno also said that the battery is designed to retain more than 80% of its original capacity after over 2,000 charging cycles based on their lab testing.

For connectivity, the Pova 8 5G features Tecno’s G1 Signal Enhancement chip and SE1 Wi-Fi Enhancement chip, which are designed to improve cellular and Wi-Fi reception in challenging environments. This 5G phone supports WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.4.
The Pova 8 5G also features IP64-rated dust and water resistance, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res Audio, NFC, an IR blaster and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Out of the box, the device runs on HiOS 16 based on Android 16.
