New Porsche Taycan being endurance tested

New Porsche Taycan

The new Porsche Taycan is currently being endurance tested by Porsche, the car is launching this spring and Porsche has been testing their latest EV in all environments.  Porsche has revealed that the sports sedan, Cross Turismo and Sport Turismo models have now completed 3.6 million kilometres of testing.

You can find out more information about the new Porsche Taycan over at the Porsche website at the link below, we are looking forward to finding out about their next-generation EV closer to launch.

Following early computer simulations and extensive validations on test benches, the updated Taycan is now undergoing the final stages of real testing on handling circuits and public roads. “Faster, higher, further – we have improved the new Taycan in practically every discipline compared to its predecessor”, says Model Line Vice President Kevin Giek. “And because the changes are so extensive, the gruelling testing programme is almost comparable to that for a new model.” Right from launch, all three body variants will come with extensive modifications – the Taycan sports sedan, the versatile Taycan Cross Turismo, which is available with an off-road package, and the sporty-yet-practical Taycan Sport Turismo.

Porsche is also launching a new electric vehicle this week, the Porsche Macan electric and we can’t wait to find out more details about this new Porsche EV SUV, it will launch on the 25th of January.

New Porsche Taycan Turbo S Sport breaks Nürburgring Record

Porsche Taycan Turbo S Sport

The new Porsche Taycan Turbo S Sport has broken the Nürburgring for the fastest electric vehicle, the car is a pre-production version of the new Taycan and it broke the previous record by an impressive 26.6 seconds.

The Porsche Taycan Turbo S Sport managed a time of 7:07.55 on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, the car was driven by Porsche development driver Lars Kern, you can see more details below.

“I pushed as hard as I could, but that was really all I could do,” says Kern. The Nürburgring-Nordschleife was at the exclusive disposal of the experienced racer for the day of fast laps. For safety reasons, the test car was equipped with the legally prescribed roll cage, along with racing bucket seats. Compared to the 2022 record in a Taycan Turbo S, the times were significantly better: the pre-series car was a good 25 km/h faster heading into the Schwedenkreuz. To illustrate the difference further, by the time Kern crossed the finish line near Grandstand 13 (T13) this time, he would have only just been passing the entrance to the Nordschleife, about to enter the Antoniusbuche section, during his record drive in the Taycan Turbo S in 2022. This put the distance between the pre-series Taycan and the current Turbo S at more than 1.3 kilometres – a figure that illustrates the leap in performance achieved on the 20.8 km course in Germany’s Eifel region. An onboard video of the complete lap will be published in mid-March.

We are looking forward to finding out more details about the new Porsche Taycan and the Porsche Taycan Turbo S Sport when the cars are officially unveiled, as soon as we get some more details, we will let you know.

Porsche 911 GT3 R rennsport in action (Video)

Porsche 911 GT3 R rennsport

The Porsche 911 GT3 R rennsport race car was made official back in September and now we get to find out more details about the car, Porsche has released a new video about their latest racecar.

Dreams have defined us, but sport has made us. Because sport is a mindset that pushes us forward. It takes our dreams and makes real change out of it. Get ready for a Porsche 911 that embodies this mindset like no other: unrivalled by any Porsche 911 that has come before yet drawing its essence from the very elements that have always set it apart. It is a celebration of the pure joy of racing and a bow to our community.

The 911 GT3 R rennsport was designed to be enjoyed, not to meet racing series’ regulatory frameworks.* It boasts a sensationally low target power-to-weight ratio of 1,240 kg to 456 kW (620 hp) – that’s a remarkable 2 kg per horsepower. This places it beyond the homologation restrictions encountered in racing series, so anyone who gets to drive it can fully concentrate on its pure performance, aided by its heritage-inspired retro spoiler, which draws on the legacy of the vehicle’s legendary predecessors.

At 9,400 RPM the GT3 R rennsport’s exclusive and unsilenced rennsport exhaust system with a centrally mounted double tailpipe, emits an unmistakable roar unheard from any other 911. A mesmerizing sound that is music to the ears of its fans.

You can find out more details about the Porsche 911 GT3 R rennsport over at Porsche at the link below, the car looks and sounds very impressive from the video.

Porsche 911 Dakar hits the ice and snow (Video)

Porsche 911 Dakar

Porsche has released a new video of the Porsche 911 Dakar in action on the ice and snow, the car is driven by racing driver Jukka Honkavuori and he takes on skier Aksel Lund Svindal on the snow.

The 911 Dakar was unveiled back in November, the car is designed to be a more off-road capable version of the 911 and it comes with a range of features and upgrades that make it ideal for off-road. Let’s see how it performs in the ice and snow in this new video.

The Porsche Ice Experience in Finland is nothing if not true to its name. A bitterly cold wind lashes the landscape in this Arctic setting, yet two professional sportsmen are set to face off on a snow-covered ski run. One of them sits behind the wheel of a Porsche 911 Dakar; the other stands on skis. This is racing driver Jukka Honkavuori versus Porsche brand ambassador and skiing legend Aksel Lund Svindal. Both men know all about pushing themselves to the limit in the severest of conditions.

That said, Honkavuori has a home-court advantage, because the Finn is a head instructor for the Porsche Ice Experience and driving on snow and ice is second nature to him. He also races in the Mobil 1 Supercup, among other events, and is a Porsche Track Experience instructor.

For his part, Svindal is no stranger to unusual challenges – the Norwegian former ski racer and two-time Olympic gold-medallist recently traversed the Moroccan desert with his high-performance skis and sports car for 9:11 Magazine, for example.

You can find out more information about the new Porsche 911 Dakar over at Porsche at the link below, it certainly looks very impressive on snow and ice from the video.

Porsche 911 GT3 RS and Taycan Turbo S set new records

Porsche 911 GT3 RS

Porsche has revealed that the Porsche 911 GT3 RS and Porsche Taycan Turbo S have set new lap records at the Buddh International Circuit, the cars were driven by India’s first Formula 1 driver Narain Karthikeyan.

The 911 GT3 RS set a lap time of 1m 59.854 seconds and the  Taycan Turbo S set a lap time of 2m 10.313 seconds, which is impressive, you can see more details about these new records below.

Driving the GT3 RS, Narain Karthikeyan broke the previous record of 2m 00.266 seconds — set by Karthikeyan himself in a 911 GT2 RS in 2019 — and registered a new lap time of 1m 59.854 seconds. The new record makes the Porsche 911 GT3 RS the fastest production car around the Buddh International Circuit and the only one to lap the circuit under two minutes.

Registering speeds of over 250km/h on the straights, the 911 GT3 RS’s new record cements its place among the Stuttgart-based brand’s illustrious list of accomplishments.

The 525 PS 992-generation 911 GT3 RS is powered by Porsche’s 4.0-litre naturally aspirated flat-six engine (911 GT3 RS: Fuel consumption* combined (WLTP) 13.4 l/100 km, CO₂ emissions* combined (WLTP) 305 g/km). The GT3 RS, touted as the ultimate road-going track car, also gets its speed from a strong focus on aerodynamics, specifically additional downforce to give it more grip in corners and several degrees of adjustability via simple-to-use controls on the steering.

New Porsche Panamera unveiled – timeswonderful

Porsche Panamera

Porsche has unveiled its new Panamera, this is the third generation Porsche Panamera and the car comes with a range of upgrades over the previous models. This includes a new design, improved performance, and the latest technology.

Pricing for the new V6 Panamera will start at £79,500 in the UK and the top model, the Turbo which is now an E-Hybrid starts at £141,400 on the road in the UK, you can see more information below.

Porsche Panamera

The new Panamera already comes with dual-chamber two-valve air suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) as standard. The two-valve technology separates the rebound and compression stages of the damper control and therefore offers an even wider range between comfort and sportiness: the system noticeably dampens impacts from transverse joints and road damage while at the same time ensuring more body stability in dynamic driving situations. The car’s handling can be further improved thanks to optional all-wheel steering.

In addition, the innovative Porsche Active Ride active suspension system is available as an option for the E-Hybrid models of the new Panamera. This system surpasses other suspension concepts in all relevant parameters and offers an unprecedented range between driving comfort and driving dynamics. The basis for this is newly developed active shock absorbers – also with two-valve technology – each connected to an electrically operated hydraulic pump. This generates a volume flow in the damper according to demand and can therefore build up forces between the body and wheels in a lightning-fast, highly precise and targeted manner, which counteract and almost completely compensate for the forces resulting from the road excitation. A weight-saving single-chamber air-suspension system complements this technology.

Porsche Panamera

You can find out more details about the third-generation Porsche Panamera over at Porsche at the link below, the first deliveries of the latest Porsche sedan will start in March of 2024.
