Mercedes CLE Cabriolet available to order in the UK

Mercedes CLE Cabriolet

Mercedes Benz has announced that they are now taking orders on the new Mercedes CLE Cabriolet in the UKL and pricing for the car starts at £52,995 on the road. The car will be available in a range of different trim levels, these include AMG Line, AMG Line Premium, AMG Line Premium Plus, and Premier Edition.

As well as different trim options there are different engine options, the CLE 200, CLE 300 4Matic, CLE 450 4Matic, and the CLE 220d. The AMG Line models start at £52,995, the AMG Line Premium at £54,745, the AMG Line Premium Plus at £58,745, and the Premier Edition starts at £61,245.

Mercedes CLE Cabriolet

The new CLE Cabriolet is equipped with an electrically operated fabric acoustic soft top. The insulated multi-layer structure can be raised or lowered in 20 seconds while the vehicle is travelling at up to 37mph. When lowered, a powered divider automatically separates the folded soft top from the remaining luggage space.

The year-round usability of the CLE Cabriolet is further enhanced by the AIRCAP® electric wind deflector system and the AIRSCARF® heating system, both fitted as standard. AIRCAP® consists of two elements: the wind deflector above the windscreen extends at the touch of a button to direct airflow over occupants’ heads, while the automatic wind deflector behind the rear head restraints reduces turbulence. AIRSCARF® circulates warm air around front seat occupants’ necks, keeping them warm in cold or windy conditions.

Mercedes Benz has announced that it is launching a new Mercedes AMG A 45 S 4MATIC+ Limited Edition model and the car will be available with a unique color which is called AMG green hell magno. The car also comes with special edition matt black 19-inch AMG forged wheels, plus a range of extensive equipment.

You can also choose from three different packages in this limited edition AMG Mercedes, these include the AMG Night Package, the AMG Night Package II, and the AMG Aerodynamics Package.

The exclusive paintwork in “AMG green hell magno” is particularly striking. This colour was previously not available for the compact class. There is also the foiling with the AMG logo and a large “A 45 S” lettering on the doors and the AMG crest on the bonnet. The “Limited Edition” rolls on matt black 19-inch AMG forged wheels in a seven-twin-spoke design, which are reserved for the Edition. Yellow as a contrasting colour accentuates the rim spokes. To match the colour of the wheels, the brake calipers of the AMG high-performance brake system are coloured glossy black and have white AMG logos. Refined details include the exclusive fuel cap with the AMG logo and the light projector: it shines the AMG coat of arms onto the road when you get in and out of the vehicle.

New Mercedes CLE Cabriolet starts at €66,402

Mercedes Benz is launching its new Mercedes CLE Cabriolet and the car will go on sale in Europe in April,  pricing will start at €66,402 on the road, and the car comes with a range of new features and a sporty design.

There will be three models available at launch, the CLE 220 d, the CLE 200, and the CLE 200 4Matic, you can see more information about the features of this new convertible below.

The AIRCAP® electric wind deflector system and the AIRSCARF® headroom heating system are standard equipment. Both systems have been further developed. They make open-top driving in cool outside temperatures more pleasant. AIRCAP® consists of two elements: the wind deflector on the windscreen directs airflow over the occupants’ heads. It extends at the touch of a button. The automatic wind deflector behind the rear head restraints reduces turbulence more efficiently. AIRSCARF® produces even warmer airflow around the necks and throats of front-seat occupants – even in unfavourable wind conditions.

Mercedes CLE Cabriolet

The standard-fit fabric acoustic soft top also contributes to the year-round usability of the CLE Cabriolet. It is available in the colours black, red or grey. The multi-layer structure with extensive insulation provides the basis for the best thermal comfort in all seasons. It also reduces wind and driving noise. The soft top opens and closes within 20 seconds up to a road speed of 60 km/h. For the first time, it is powered exclusively by electricity, making it even quieter. The standard-fit powered roller divider automatically separates the folded soft top from the remaining luggage compartment.

New Mercedes MBUX Virtual Assistant unveiled at CES

Last week at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas Mercedes unveiled its new MBUX Virtual Assistant and its latest in-vehicle technology, the new MBUX assistant uses generative AI and it comes with a range of features.

Mercedes also showed off their new MBUX Surround Navigation system at CES, which is designed to integrate route guidance and provide a seamless experience with 3D graphics and more.

The class-defining MBUX Virtual Assistant running on MB.OS is the most human-like interface with a Mercedes-Benz yet. Combining the intelligent systems of MBUX into a single entity, it presents a new face to the customer with natural and empathetic interaction. The MBUX Virtual Assistant is a further development of the system first showcased in the VISION EQXX. It uses generative AI and proactive intelligence to make life as easy, convenient and comfortable as possible. For instance, it can offer helpful suggestions based on learned behaviour and situational context. Examples include playing the latest news in the morning or initiating a preferred massage programme at the end of the working day. And if the driver is running late for a meeting entered into the calendar, the system can offer to dial in directly from the car. If the driver wishes, these processes can also be automated. The experience can be further augmented through incorporation of the vehicle’s ambient lighting and sound system. For example, warm light and soft music can accompany a relaxing massage.

Mercedes to use turquoise coloured lights for automated driving

Mercedes Benz has revealed that it will use turquoise-coloured lights on its vehicles for automated driving, the car maker has received approval for these lights in California and Nevada in the USA.

There are slightly different permits for each state and the new lights will be displayed when the Mercedes Benz Drive Pilot system is in use, you can see more details below on what is planned.

Mercedes-Benz has become the world’s first automobile manufacturer to receive permits for special exterior marker lights for automated driving in the states of California and Nevada. The California exemption permit for testing vehicles in California is initially limited to two years. The Nevada permit applies to Mercedes-Benz Model Year 2026 production vehicles and will remain valid until a statutory modification is achieved with the state legislature.

Mercedes Automated driving

Both permits allow Mercedes-Benz to gain important insights into the interaction of automated vehicles and other road users. The inclusion of marker lights is poised to substantially enhance public acceptance of automated driving and contribute to road safety, as the lights make the automated driving system’s status clearly visible from the exterior. This also allows traffic law enforcement and police officers to identify the system’s status and determine whether drivers are permitted to engage in secondary activities during the conditionally automated journey. Designed in accordance with SAE J3134 Recommended Practice, the turquoise-coloured marker lights for automated driving in California are integrated into the front and rear lights as well as the two outside mirrors in Mercedes-Benz testing vehicles.

Mercedes gets approval for conditionally automated driving test

Mercedes Benz has announced that it has received approval for a conditionally automated driving road test license in Beijing, China. Mercedes Benz is one of the first automakers to receive approval for this new conditionally automated driving (Level 3)[1] highway road test license in Beijing.

The carmaker will start testing its conditionally automated driving system testing on the highways in Beijing, more details below about what the company has planned for the tests.

Mercedes-Benz has consistently been a pioneer in automated driving. It started in 1986 with adaptive cruise control testing. Today, it is the only car manufacturer in the world with the world’s first internationally valid system approval for conditionally automated driving and a SAE Level 4 driverless parking system in place. In China, Mercedes-Benz has been conducting proving ground tests of Level 3 systems for years.

Mercedes CLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupe

Mercedes Benz has added a new performance model to its CLE coupe range with the launch of the Mercedes CLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupe the car comes with a 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine that also features an exhaust gas turbocharger and an electric additional compressor that produces 449 horsepower.

The progressively forward-sloping front section (“Shark Nose”), in combination with the precisely shaped bonnet, ensures an appearance that is both sporty and elegant. The AMG-specific A-shaped radiator grille and the flat, sharply cut full-LED headlights create a particularly powerful impression. DIGITAL LIGHT headlights with and without projection function are available as optional equipment. They have daytime running light ellipses and blue lighting on the base of the headlights, which enhances the dynamic appearance.

Mercedes CLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupe

The strikingly designed front apron is raised in the middle section in an A-shape (“A-wing”). This allows for a large air inlet for high air flow. This also applies to the outer air inlets with two cross slats. Distinctive shaped edges structure the side view. The flared front and rear fenders, the wide track (plus 58 millimetres at the front, plus 75 millimetres at the rear compared to the Mercedes-Benz model) and the 19-inch wheels give the new AMG Coupé a powerful appearance. 20-inch wheels are available as an option.
