Se produjeron disparos cuando la policía recuperó un automóvil Lexus robado en Port Harcourt.

Ayer se desarrolló una escena dramática en el área de Diopo Milla 3 de Port Harcourt, cuando agentes del Comando de Policía del Estado de Rivers arrestaron a sospechosos en un taller mecánico de automóviles en School Road y recuperaron un automóvil Lexus que había sido secuestrado a punta de pistola en el estado de Delta.

La operación dio un giro tenso cuando la policía que peinaba las zonas apagones se enfrentó con el personal de vigilancia en la calle Azikiwe, lo que provocó disparos y los residentes huyeron en busca de seguridad en medio del caos.
Una hora más tarde llegaron refuerzos y el coche robado fue remolcado. Un oficial de policía del Departamento de Policía de Azikiwe estuvo en el lugar y supervisó la operación.

Desde entonces, la vida ha vuelto a la normalidad y los transeúntes han retomado sus actividades diarias. La policía aún no ha emitido una declaración oficial sobre el incidente.

Lexus LBX Morizo RR Concept

Lexus has unveiled a new concept car at the 2024 Tokyoa Auto Salson, the new Lexus LBX Morizo RR Concept, which is designed to be a performance-focused car, and it features a 1.6-litre three-cylinder engine that comes with Direct Shift eight-speed automatic transmission and electronically controlled full-time all-wheel drive.

The car comes with 205 horsepower and it features 19-inch wheels, the exact performance figures have not been revealed as yet, although you can see more details on the car below.

The LBX Morizo RR Concept makes its world debut today at the Tokyo Auto Salon, a reinterpretation of Lexus’ all-new compact crossover as a high-performance model that’s focused on driver engagement and rewards. At the same time, the concept preserves the essential high-quality driving experience and sophisticated design that are intrinsic to the brand

Lexus LBX Morizo RR Concept

Adding another dimension to the LBX’s convention-breaking character, the concept model has been created with direct input from Toyota Motor Corporation Chairman and Master Driver Akio Toyoda – also known as “Morizo”. Chairman Toyoda gives a personal insight into the project in a short video that can be viewed on Lexus Europe Newsroom.

2025 Lexus UX 300h unveiled

2025 Lexus UX 300h

Lexus has unveiled a new version of its UX, the 2025 Lexus UX 300h and the car comes with a range of upgrades including a new fifth-generation hybrid system that produces up to 1965 horsepower.

The new Lexus UX 300h comes with a 12.3 inch multi-information display as standard on the Premium and F Sport models and it also comes with the Lexus Safety System+ 3.0.

The 2025 UX 300h becomes the first Lexus vehicle powered by the fifth-generation Lexus Hybrid System, which pairs the inline four-cylinder 2.0-liter gas engine with two motor-generators through a planetary-type continuously variable transmission.

The engine, working in concert with the electric motor, assures responsive performance, while exemplary energy efficiency is achieved by using both electric motors to charge a compact and lightweight lithium-ion battery that has replaced the previous system’s nickel-metal hydride battery. The 60-cell battery is located under the rear seat, helping with passenger comfort and storage capacity.

A new hybrid transaxle has been adopted, enabling higher output of the front (83 kW) and rear (30 kW) motors. Combined, the engine, lithium-ion battery and high-output motor deliver up to 196 horsepower.

New Lexus BEV coming in 2026

Lexus has revealed that they will be launching their next generation of Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) in 2026 and the cards will be built on a new modular vehicle body structure which will make some significant changes to production.

We will get to see the first concept in the range soon at the Japan Mobility Show which takes place next month and we are looking forward to seeing what Lexus has planned for their new electric vehicle lineup.

In 2026, Lexus will introduce a next generation battery electric vehicle (BEV) with a revolutionary modular vehicle body structure, a drastically changed production method and a completely renewed software platform. A first concept model that explores this approach will be unveiled at the Japan Mobility Show in October as part of Lexus’s commitment to changing the future of automobiles through electrification.

The announcement was made at the Lexus Showcase event which was held in Japan on 15-16 September.

Lexus International President Takashi Watanabe introduced a line-up of new Lexus models designed to meet the diverse needs of customers and regions across the world. He also discussed the future direction of Lexus vehicle manufacturing and the company’s efforts to address the challenge of developing and promoting BEVs to help achieve a carbon-neutral society.
