It has been a busy day at work for Samsung. The company has released the much-awaited One UI 6.1 update to several older high-end phones, including the Galaxy Z Fold 3. This update is now available only in South Korea, though, and other markets could get it in the next few days.

The other phones that have received the update today include the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S22, Galaxy Z Flip 3, Galaxy Z Flip 4, and Galaxy Z Fold 4.

The One UI 6.1 update is now available for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 in Korea. It is a huge update with a download size of more than 2GB. If you have a Galaxy Z Fold 3, you can now check for the update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install.

  • Generative Edit: The built-in Photo Editor uses AI to offer advanced editing features, including more accurately removing objects and correcting the angles and alignments of images.
  • Interpreter: Interpreter Mode is used for real-time language translation when talking to someone face to face.
  • Live Translate: Translate language in real-time during voice calls.
  • Note Assist: Summarizes and formats notes in the Samsung Notes app. Converts handwritten notes into properly formatted notes structure.
  • Transcript Assist: Transcript voice recordings and auto-tagging of people using Samsung Voice Recorder.

A Reuters report, citing South Korea’s law enforcement, claims three major threat actors – Lazarus, Kimsuky, and Andariel, have been going after defense organizations and third-party contractors, planting malicious code in data systems, pulling out passwords and technical information.

Samsung launches new Smart Monitor M5, M7, M8 in South Korea

A few months ago, Samsung unveiled its new monitor lineup for 2024. Some of those monitors have now been launched in Samsung’s home country, South Korea. Consumers can now buy the Smart Monitor series models in the country.

The Smart Monitor M5 (M50D), M7 (M70D), and M8 (M80D) are now available through Kakao, Naver, and Samsung.com.

Samsung has launched the 2024 versions of Smart Monitor M5, Smart Monitor M7, and Smart Monitor M8 in South Korea. The Smart Monitor M5 is priced at KRW 330,000 ($240) for the 27-inch version and KRW 390,000 ($283) for the 32-inch version. The Smart Monitor M7 is priced at KRW 540,000 ($392) for the 32-inch version and KRW 680,000 ($494) for the 43-inch version. The Smart Monitor M8 costs KRW 850,000 ($618) in Korea.

The Smart Monitor M5 has Full HD resolution and 250 nits brightness, and it comes in 27-inch and 32-inch versions. The Smart Monitor M7 has 4K resolution and comes in 32-inch and 43-inch sizes. The Smart Monitor features 4K resolution, too, but comes in just one size: 43-inch. All these monitors run Tizen OS, bringing access to all the popular audio and video streaming services. They also feature AirPlay and Smart View for screen mirroring from Apple and Samsung devices, respectively.

The Smart Monitor M8 features an AI-capable processor for upscaling low-resolution content. It also features Active Voice Amplifier Pro to make vocals clearer. When connected to compatible Galaxy Buds, it features 360 Audio mode for more immersive audio.

All monitors feature Gaming Hub, Samsung Daily+, Samsung TV Plus, and Workout Tracker. They can display real-time health data from your Galaxy Watch while you work out. These monitors feature Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, HDMI ports, and a USB Type-C port. Some of them can be fitted with Samsung’s Moving Stand accessory, which is sold separately.

A Samsung Electronics official said, “We have further improved the viewing experience and usability by adding AI functions to the Samsung Smart Monitor, which has been greatly loved by reflecting the rapidly changing lifestyles of consumers,” adding, “We have strengthened various home life usability in line with trends. We will lead the monitor market by doing so.

Samsung starts selling Bespoke Jet Bot Combo in Korea, USA

In December 2023, Samsung unveiled the Bespoke Jet Bot Combo, the company’s first robotic vacuum cleaner and mop. At CES 2024, the company showcased the product to the public. Fast forward to yesterday, the brand launched the robotic vacuum cleaner and mop with other Bespoke AI products globally, and today, the tech giant announced that it has started selling the Bespoke Jet Bot Combo in Korea.

Samsung says that it held a live shopping event for selling the Bespoke Jet Bot Combo on the company’s official website, as well as on three other shopping platforms in the region, 11 Street, CJ Home Shopping, and G Market. The brand says that it will hold live shopping events on other platforms as well to sell the new robotic vacuum cleaner and mop, as well as expand the product’s sales to offline stores.

Samsung has priced the Bespoke Jet Bot Combo in Korea at KRW 1,79,00,00 (approximately USD 1,328) and is offering the product in two colors, Satin Greige, and Satin Charcoal. People who purchase the Bespoke Jet Bot Combo through live shopping events will get the Samsung Bluesky Air Purifier for free, various discounts on different payment cards, and other benefits including membership points.

The Bespoke Jet Bot Combo can vacuum as well as mop your home. It has multiple rotating brushes for gathering dust during vacuuming, and two pads for mopping that can rotate at up to 170 rounds per minute (RPM) for removing stains from the floor. The robotic vacuum cleaner and mop has a total of five sensors, including a LiDAR sensor and a 3D sensor, for mapping your home and detecting obstacles.

It comes with an All-in-One Clean Station with Auto Steam, which can automatically empty the Jet Bot Combo’s dust bin, fill it with clean water for mopping, and wash its mop pads with warm water (at 100-degree Celsius) and steam, which, according to Samsung, eliminates 99.99% of bacteria including E. coli, and dry the mop pads with hot air (at 55-degree Celsius) to prevent odor and the growth of bacteria.

Also available in the US starting today

Starting today, Samsung has made the Jet Bot Combo available to purchase in the US as well. It comes in two variants: VR7MD97714G and VR7MD96514G. The former costs USD 1,399 and the latter costs USD 1,099. From what we could gather, the only difference between the two is that the VR7MD97714G has a 3D sensor, whereas, the VR7MD96514G doesn’t. Both models are available in only one color in the US.

It has two USB Type-C ports and a wireless charging pad to charge three devices simultaneously.

The 20,000mAh power bank has three USB Type-C ports and a maximum of 45W power from a single port. It can charge three devices simultaneously, but the power output will get divided across three ports.

Both power banks are available in Beige color and can be purchased through Samsung.com, Samsung Stores, and other authorized retailers. The 10,000mAh wireless charging power bank is priced at KRW 55,000 ($41), while the 20,000mAh power bank costs KRW 66,000 ($50).

There is a 10% discount on both new power banks for those who buy them from Samsung.com from March 19 to March 31.
