LRT3 Shah Alam Line is set to be operational on Monday, 29 June. The opening date was revealed by Transport Minister Anthony Loke during a press conference earlier today.
According to the minister, the new LRT line will be first officiated by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim this coming Sunday, 28 June. It will then be opened to the public on the following day.
Connecting Bandar Utama and Johan Setia, the LRT3 Shah Alam Line covers a distance of 37.8km, with 2.5km of it being underground. With 20 stations in total, the new line is set to link the western side of Klang Valley – mainly Petaling Jaya, Shah Alam, and Klang.
The Shah Alam Line will be using a 3-car trainset made by CRRC Zhuzhou that has a maximum capacity of 624 passengers. According to Rapid KL, there are 6 stations with Park N’ Ride facilities, including Kayu Ara, Pasar Klang, Bandar Bukit Tinggi, Damansara Idaman, Seri Andalas, and Johan Setia, which can accommodate a total of 2,300 vehicles.
