Galaxy Buds can now launch Samsung Music with touch and hold gesture

Samsung’s wireless earbuds come with a touchpad and support various touch gestures, including a touch and hold gesture that can be assigned to launching apps like Spotify and Bixby or performing actions such as increasing and decreasing the volume

But did you know that the touch and hold gesture cannot be used to launch the Samsung Music app? You would expect a music app made by Samsung would be fully supported by the company’s wireless earbuds, but that isn’t the case for the Samsung Music app.

At long last, Samsung is fixing that oversight. An update to Samsung Music finally adds the option to fire up the app by touching and holding the touchpad on Galaxy Buds earbuds when they’re connected to a phone or tablet.

Why wasn’t this functionality already available? Well, only Samsung can answer that question. We’re assuming that Samsung didn’t think its music app was used widely enough to warrant proper support. After all, the world has moved almost entirely to apps that can stream music off the internet, something Samsung’s Music app cannot do (it does have Spotify integration, but Samsung doesn’t have a streaming service of its own).

The first beta of iOS 17.5 potentially references a new fourth-generation Apple Pencil, amid rumors that the accessory will be updated soon.

A new Apple Pencil is rumored to launch alongside updated iPad Pro and iPad Air models in May. Apple refers to the USB-C version of the Apple Pencil released last year as the third-generation Apple Pencil in iOS code, so the fourth-generation model would be a new version that would likely succeed the second-generation Apple Pencil.

Additional code in the iOS 17.5 beta uncovered by MacRumors contributor Aaron Perris suggests that the Apple Pencil could gain a “squeeze” gesture for certain actions, but details are slim. The gesture may provide users with a quicker way to add a sticker, text box, signature, or shape in image editing apps, the code suggests.

MacRumors exclusively reported that Apple has tested a new Apple Pencil with visionOS support, but it is unclear if this feature will be released to the public.

Samsung released the much-awaited One UI 6.1 update to millions of high-end phones yesterday. After installing the One UI 6.1 update on their phones, some users have had issues with the UI navigation system and some new limitations that Samsung has imposed.

If you want to hide the UI navigation gesture bar on your phone running One UI 6.1, here’s how you can do it.

Hide UI navigation gesture bar in One UI 6.1

To hide the UI navigation gesture bar in One UI 6.1, you have to install the Good Lock app and the NavStar app from the Galaxy Store. Make sure that your phone is running version 6.1.05.40 of the NavStar app. If you can’t find that version on the Galaxy Store, download it from here and install it. Now, follow the steps mentioned below.

  1. Open the Good Lock app and then click on NavStar.
  2. Now, turn on the Enable Extra Gesture Settings option.
  3. Open the Settings app on your phone and navigate to Display » Navigation Bar » More Options.
  4. Now, turn off the Gesture Hint option.
