Samsung Galaxy M55 with Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 could launch in India soon

[ad_1]

Now that Samsung has launched the Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A55, the company is readying Galaxy M and Galaxy F versions of those phones.

The Galaxy M55 could be launched in India and Latin American markets soon.

Galaxy M55 is nearing its launch

Samsung has confirmed the existence of the Galaxy M55 (SM-M556B/DS). The company’s websites for India, Latin America, and the Levant regions have listed its support webpage.

Galaxy M55 specifications

Earlier reports about the Galaxy M55 have revealed that the phone uses a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor, which is quite powerful for its class. It is a 4nm chip made by Samsung Foundry and features one prime CPU core, three high-end CPU cores, and four power-efficient CPU cores.

It has the Adreno 644 GPU, which is more powerful than the GPU inside the Snapdragon 778G (used in the Galaxy A52s) and the Snapdragon 782G. The phone was spotted earlier with 8GB RAM and Android 14 (One UI 6) out of the box.

The phone is said to feature a 5,000mAh battery and 45W fast charging. It likely has a triple-camera setup featuring a 50MP primary camera. The phone will likely have a 12MP ultrawide camera and a 5MP macro camera.

Cheaper Galaxy Z Fold 6 could be launched later to compete with iPhone 16

[ad_1]

Last month, we exclusively reported that Samsung will hold its next Galaxy Unpacked event in July 2024. At this event, the company will launch its next-generation foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6. Some reports claim that Samsung will also launch a cheaper version of the Galaxy Z Fold 6, but its launch could be delayed by a few months.

Cheaper Galaxy Z Fold 6 launch could happen in September or October 2024

According to a new report from The Elec (via @Tech_Reve), Samsung will start the production of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 two to three weeks earlier than usual. So, the launch of those two upcoming foldable phones will likely happen two to three weeks earlier. This report lines up with our earlier report about an early launch. So, the launch of the cheaper Galaxy Z Fold 6 will happen around the launch of the iPhone 16 series.

The mass production of Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 components will reportedly begin in early May 2024. Last year, Samsung ordered the mass production of Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 components in late May 2023. Samsung has reportedly set a sales target of 200,000 to 300,000 units for the cheaper Galaxy Z Fold 6. While the shipment numbers aren’t high, it will divert consumer attention from the iPhone 16.

Cheaper Galaxy Z Fold 6 will lack S Pen and could be thinner than standard version

The report claims that the costlier version of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will have a built-in S Pen slot, but the cheaper one doesn’t. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is said to be thinner and lighter than the Galaxy Z Fold 5, and the cheaper version will be even thinner.

Another report claimed that the affordable version of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will be priced at just $800, which makes it an enticing product. The standard Galaxy Z Fold 6 could have better cameras, a brighter screen, a faster Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, and a slightly bigger battery.

The combined sales target of Samsung’s upcoming foldable phones is around 10 million. The estimated sales figure for the Galaxy S24 series is around 35 million. So, the total sales of Samsung’s high-end phones could be around 40-45 million units, an improvement over last year.

Author’s Note: Samsung could launch the Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE with an $800 price tag. It could have a weaker processor, a dimmer screen, and a smaller battery than the regular Galaxy Z Fold 6. Since a $1,800 foldable phone is too much for most people, a $800 foldable phone with a big screen could attract a lot of people, and some people might consider buying their first foldable phone. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Galaxy Z Fold 5-like specifications for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE.

On the other hand, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will most likely have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, more RAM, improved cameras, and a bigger battery.

[ad_1]

After launching at least seven tablets in the second half of last year, Samsung is expected to launch at least three new tablets later this year. The Galaxy Tab S10, Galaxy Tab S10+, and the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra will likely be the high-end tablets to be launched in 2024, and their signs of existence have been spotted.

Galaxy Tab S10+ battery certified by South Korean device safety authorities

The battery of the Galaxy Tab S10+ has been certified (via MySmartPrice) by the Korea Testing & Research Institute. It carries model number EB-BX828ABE and has received safety certification from the South Korean authority. However, its battery capacity hasn’t been revealed due to blurry images from the testing procedure. It will likely be around 10,000mAh, similar to previous-generation Plus variants of Samsung’s high-end tablets.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Plus Battery Certification South Korea

This isn’t the first time this battery has appeared online. It was spotted last month in India’s BIS safety certification database. With Samsung getting the go-ahead from several certification authorities for the Galaxy Tab S10 series, we will likely see the launch of those devices in the second half of this year. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor could power all those devices. They could have Dynamic AMOLED 2x screens, quad-speaker setups, and an S Pen.

Previous reports claim that the Galaxy Tab S10 will bring some improvements to the S Pen, including its latency and the placement of the action button. The S Pen might also get IP68 certification and some attachments. Samsung is also said to be improving the productivity factor of its upcoming high-end tablets by bringing in improved ecosystem and cross-device functionality features.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 FE could launch in 2024 with $800 price tag

[ad_1]

There have been reports that Samsung plans to launch two Galaxy Z Fold 6 phones this year. However, a new report now claims that the South Korean firm will launch a cheaper Galaxy Z Flip 6 version this year to improve its sales figures.

Cheaper Galaxy Z Flip 6 to have largely the same cameras as the costlier one

According to a new report from SisaJournal (via @Tech_Reve), Samsung is planning to launch a more affordable version of its Galaxy Z Flip series phone this year. While the device’s name hasn’t been speculated, it wouldn’t be hard to imagine that Samsung could name it the Galaxy Z Flip 6 FE.

The upcoming foldable phone could have lower-end/older components than the Galaxy Z Flip 6. According to the report, it will have cheaper display, processor, and battery specifications. The Galaxy Z Flip 6 FE cameras, though, are expected to be similar to the pricier Galaxy Z Flip 5. So, it will likely feature a 12MP+12MP dual-camera setup, and there have been no major changes in camera components.

Samsung’s foldable smartphone market share has dropped from 66.4% to 60.4%, which is expected to drop further in the second quarter of this year. Samsung is reportedly trying to increase its market share by launching a more affordable foldable phone. The Galaxy Z Flip 6 FE will reportedly be priced at $800.

Galaxy A55’s awesome design is let down by massive bezels

[ad_1]

In the modern Galaxy Ax lineup, which started with the Galaxy A50 back in 2019, the Galaxy A55’s premium design is unmatched by anything that came before.

With the Galaxy A54, Samsung added a glass back, and with the Galaxy A55, the company added a metal frame to the mix. Combine that with the upgrade from Gorilla Glass 5 to Gorilla Glass Victus+, and you get an in-hand feel and build quality that’s much closer to those of Samsung’s flagship phones.

But the Galaxy A55 is a mid-range phone at the end of the day, and that means Samsung has left out a few upgrades fans would have liked to see. The worst offender in that regard is the size of the bezels around the display.

Slimmer bezels would have made Galaxy A55 design perfect

As you can see in the picture below, the bezels on the Galaxy A55 are massive. They are as big as the bezels on the Galaxy A54 and a stark contrast to the symmetrical and ultra-thin bezels of the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S4 Ultra. They are also bigger than those on some considerably cheaper Chinese smartphones that launched a year or more ago.

Galaxy A55 bezels

Is this a knock against the phone and a reason why you shouldn’t buy it? Not really. The Galaxy A55’s design is excellent overall for a mid-range Samsung phone. It also boasts features such as IP67 water and dust resistance, which you won’t find on most competing devices from other manufacturers (even those that are water and dust-resistant tend to offer weaker protection).

Still, the large bezels are disappointing and hold the A55’s design back from true greatness. Samsung will probably address the bezel size next year as it’s the only part of the design that hasn’t been brought up to modern standards, but we would have prefered seeing the upgrade this year itself.

Galaxy M35 is likely just a rebranded Galaxy A35

[ad_1]

Earlier this month, we learned that Samsung is developing a new M-series smartphone, the Galaxy M35, which will be a rebranded variant of the Galaxy A35, a phone that the company launched last week. However, there was no concrete information about the existence of the device. Well, that’s changing today.

A new smartphone from Samsung, bearing the model number SM-M356B, has been spotted on Geekbench. Going by the model number, this device seems to be the Galaxy M35, which means that we have our first proof that the phone exists. What’s even better is that the listing also reveals the phone’s specs.

Samsung Galaxy M35 Geekbench Listing

According to the benchmarking platform, the Galaxy M35 has a motherboard with model number s5e8835, which is tied to the Exynos 1380 chipset. So, it is safe to assume that the Galaxy M35 will have the Exynos 1380 SoC, the same processor as the Galaxy A35. The listing also revealed that the phone has 6GB RAM, which could be one of the memory configurations of the device, and that it runs on Android 14 (One UI 6.0 or One UI 6.1).

At the moment, that’s all the solid information we have on the Galaxy M35. That being said, we expect the phone to come with the same features as the Galaxy A35 except for two: the M-series device could miss out on an IP rating for dust and water resistance and could come with a larger battery pack.
