The top model the vRS version will come with 340 PS and Skoda has said that their new 2024 Skoda Enyaq will feature optimized battery charging and management and will come with a new pre-conditioning feature that is designed to reduce charging times.

Škoda Auto is comprehensively updating its Enyaq family for the 2024 model year. For the first time ever, the Czech car maker’s popular battery-electric model is also available with the Laurin & Klement trim line, which boasts lavish standard equipment. The technical upgrades bring even more powerful drivetrains, shorter charging times and an increased range. In addition, the new vehicle software features a new, more intuitive user interface.

Martin Jahn, Škoda Auto Board Member for Sales and Marketing, says: “Our Enyaq family has helped us kick off electric mobility in style – in the first nine months of 2023 alone, we recorded around 55,000 deliveries worldwide, an increase of more than 47 percent year-on-year. Lotus has announced that it is launching some new EV charging solutions for electric vehicles, the carmaker has revealed that these new charging solutions are already available in China and they are planning to launch them in more countries next year.

In 2024 the new Lotus EV charging solutions will also be launched in Europe and the Middle East, there are a range of different options including an ultra-fast 450 kW DC charger, a power cabinet, and a modular unit for charging up to four cars at the same time.

Lotus is using liquid-cooled technologies throughout its suite of commercial charging solutions to make it easier and quicker for EV drivers to charge their vehicles.

Lotus’ fast-charging solutions have already been deployed in China and are expected to roll out across the majority of European countries and Middle East in Q2 2024. Further market availability will be announced in due course.

As charging infrastructure improves over time, Lotus is ensuring its customers are equipped by providing a 450 kW solution. Lotus has futureproofed its charging offering, which is expected to be the next step forward in fast charging when the infrastructure becomes readily available. Lotus customers will be able to easily upgrade to this power output without additional hardware costs once in-market service providers rollout grid upgrades.

iPhone 15 Pro Max Charging Test (Video)

Apple offers a range of different chargers for their iPhone 15 Pro Max smartphones, these include 20W and 30W chargers. Other companies offer faster chargers for the iPhone, but do these faster chargers make any major differences in charging speeds?

The video below from iDeviceHelp tests the iPhone 15 Pro Max with different chargers, one is a 30W charger and the other is a 30W charger, both of the chargers used in the video are from iPhone accessory maker UGreen.

The test began with both iPhones at 0% battery, ensuring a fair and accurate test. The charging process was monitored in 10-minute increments. In the initial 10 minutes, a small difference emerged. The iPhone charged with the 30W charger reached 19% battery, while its counterpart with the 65W charger achieved a slightly higher 20%. This early stage highlighted the efficiency of both chargers in rapidly powering the device.

After 20 minutes of charging on the iPhone 15 pro Max, the gap remained narrow. The 30W charger impressively achieved a 37% battery charge, closely followed by the 65W charger at 39%. These results underscored the effectiveness of both chargers in delivering quick power boosts in short periods.

After one hour, both chargers impressively charged the iPhones to 84%, showcasing the diminishing returns of higher wattage in the later stages of charging. The test concluded that the difference in charging speeds between the 30W and 65W chargers for the iPhone 15 Pro Max is minimal. However, the 65W charger’s additional ports offer increased versatility for charging multiple devices simultaneously. This feature might be a decisive factor for users who value the convenience of charging several gadgets at once.
